well ... I finished my first class assignment tonight: I had to get away from the green auto and P modes on my S3 and take a few pictures on my own ... making the settings myself  We had to take pictures of everyday things around our home. Not very exciting, but I don't think I did awful for my first time. One or two may be over exposed, I can't tell for sure.

A few of these were on P, and some were in Av or Tv mode. Manual still scares me. :(

Madge, I love Manual! I use it more than any other setting. Give yourself time and you'll love the control you have over your pictures!:goodvibes

Great shots, madge. I love the boots and the rose!

Thanks for sharing.

I've shot in auto practically always, so wrapping my brain around the idea of settings has been a little overwhelming. Between this class and Understanding Exposure, I'm starting to get the hang of it. I think, once I go back and write down the settings I used on which picture, things will get clearer. I hope. I have 2 weeks to get a better handle on this before our vacation!

There's a guy in the class that needs to be in an intermediate group - he's far more advanced than anyone else and he's a know-it-all on top of that. I'm sure he'll have gallery quality pictures. hmph.

Thanks for all the kind words.
