Clarkson actually got awarded by the farming community for bringing to attention the desperate plight of farmers in Britain. He's making a second series now and it is due to air fairly soon.

The pompous jerk thing is self depricating humor. I just checked out episode 1 after seeing this thread and I love it.

I watched the first series a few months ago and thought it was great. In addition to Clarkson, the “cast” are genuine and entertaining. I loved the parts with Gerald the stonemason. And the sheep parts were both hilarious and sad at times.

My DH and I loved watching it. I loved the main farmhand. He was very unimpressed by Jeremy.
