Anyone ever stay at this place? It looks decent and gets acceptable reviews. My friend and I are taking our kids to the Orlando area for spring break and I can get an amazing deal on the resort plus a free night with my choice points. My problem is that I am not at all familiar with this area. I have no idea as to what is around there....ie restaurants, shopping etc. I have always stayed in the I-drive area or WDW. My friend has never been to FL so it's all up to me to plan this great trip. We are planning to stay 3 or 4 nights somewhere :confused3 and then we are moving to the Hilton BC for the rest of the trip. This Clarion looked like fun.

We stayed at the Clarion Resort and Waterpark about a year ago...and it still makes me a bit gaggy. We were coming up from Ft. Myers to visit relatives and I didn't have enough time to research. It looked okay online but was really pretty awful.

The pool is rather pathetic (we just checked it out in the morn before leaving); the location was less than desirable; and the bedding was icky. There was blood stains/hairs on the sheets, more than a few stray hairs on the sheets, and a nice little cockroach. It was almost midnight so we were pretty much stuck; my husband drove to the front to get new bedding. Walls were paper thin. I can still hear the guy in the next room singing "you better take your vitamin, you better take your vitamin, you better take your vitamin, right now."

There are much better places in my opinion.

Thanks.....that is not at all the kind of place we would want to stay and I would be pretty miffed if I wasted my points on that. The reviews on Tripadvisor were decent but then after I posted this thread I came upon another site that had reviews and they were all pretty bad. Similar to what you have said plus more.

We have decided to stay Coco Key on I-drive. That was the original plan but until just 2 days ago they were showing the waterpark hours as 4pm-9pm in March. I had to call them a few times to find out if that was acurate. There auto phone system and website were totally different. Anyway, I got a manger on Friday that said it would be open during our stay from 11am-7pm. So all is good. I'm really excited to be in that location...it's been years since I did the I-drive thing.
