Any feedback = good and bad. We are thinking of getting the 2 bedroom villa for few nights. Have enough points to make it a free stay. Torn between this and Quality Suites Maingate East.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.:D :p

If this is the Clarion Suites Resort World, I would strongly advise against it. There have been other posts, besides mine about this hotel - terrible customer service, no daily housekeeping, broken security lights, broken showers, broken locks, no restaurant on property, etc... We had no choice when staying here 2 summers ago because we joined a vacation club, and this is where they sent us. The room itself (2 bedroom) wasn't that bad, and it was spacious, but this hotel has a bad reputation. They are affiliated with Choice Hotels International (Clarion, Comfort Inn), but they are privately owned by a timeshare corporation and this is where the problems stem from. I would do a search under this hotel name, as well as read old posts about which hotels to avoid in Orlando and that way you can make an informed decision on your own. I would hope that they have corrected their problems, but a recent post a couple of months ago from another DIS member verified that they still were as unorganized and unprofessional as when we stayed there.

Good luck with your decision. Tiger

I don't know about any posts here where the Quality Suites are concerned, but on Travelocity a few hotels are rated by people who have stayed there. I head some NOT such great things ab Quality Suites Maingate East .. anywhere from smelly rooms, wet carpets, broken showes etc .. Now I want to be very clear .. I didn't stay there, but I have a tendency to believe bad reviews over good reviews. I've also historically stayed away from anything with "quality", "days" ,"8" in it's name ..

I already looked at travelocity. The only review was from a woman who stayed with her seven kids. She said that the hotel made her feel like she was "right at home". That's exactly what I don't want! I'm not sure what she meant by that since it's a very vague statement.

We stayed at a clarion on the ocean in VA Beach and I had a miserable time. I submitted a bad review to travelocity regarding that clarion. I just don't want to repeat my bad experience again on this trip.

Good point. At least in my home things are clean - they don't even have daily maid service at this hotel! They also left bags of garbage (left from cleaning vacant rooms) strewn all over property, and in front of our door each morning as we left to go to WDW for the day, mold in bathroom, etc... I can keep going on and on... but I won't.... it seems as if you have made a wise choice. There are so many better quality places to stay at in Orlando - and I'm sure you'll be able to get some decent rates if you just keep looking.

Good luck with your planning. Tiger

cofey - This sounds so familiar and our stay was almost 2 years ago! Obviously they have not corrected their problems, and unfortunately for those who stay here, they are still in business. From the disorganization, uncleanliness, rude staff and blatant misinformation and fraudulent advertising, you'd think this hotel would get its act together. As I stated in a post several months ago, I continued to pester them until the president of Choice Hotels contacted me and sent me $250.00 US in gift certificates to use at any Choice Hotel property (Comfort Inn, Clarion, Quality). We wanted our money refunded, but they would not do that, so we used our gift certificates to stay at several brand new properties at the airport and in Toronto while on a short weekend away. We were determined to use our gift certificates, but only at brand new hotels. We had never stayed at any Choice Hotels because we don't normally stay in budget hotels because they usually bring with them a whole host of problems, and so after returning from this terrible experience in Florida, our fears were totally justified. It's unbelievable to me how a budget timeshare property, can get away with blatant false advertising and still continue to operate. The Choice Hotels executive office even admitted to me that this property had a ton of problems that they assured me were in the process of being fixed, obviously that was not the case.

The website shows two Clarion Suites - one is the one where both of you have stayed. The other is listed as being in Orlando. It looks like they have used the same "villa" picture for both hotels. I wonder what experiences have been like with the other Clarion. It looks like it's only 1/2 a mile from Lake Buena Vista.
