Just an FYI for the Clarion Maingate.
I won this hotel for $30.00 a night on Priceline. From what I hear it's coming up a lot for the 2.5 * category.
I went up to WDW last minute with just my six year old son. I needed a basic hotel, cheap just to sleep in.
This was a nice convenient hotel, it's on 192 behind AKL.
When I checked in the lady saw I was alone with my son and said "I have a nice close room for you". It was right near the lobby, pool and on the 1st floor! Great!
The room was huge, two double beds, a sofa bed in an alcove, fridge, micro, table and chairs. I don't think this is a standard room there, I think some are w/o the sofa bed.
It was clean but older. Bathroom was a bit small, vaity and sink were outside of the bathroom.
Pool is small, tiki bar is open from 6-11PM. They have a breakfast buffet for $6.95 and kids eat free. I didn't go there.
Staff was very nice. It was very easy to drive to the parks and resorts, they do offer a free shuttle to the parks.
It was a great deal!
