Clarification on Resale Purchase

If I purchase 100 points resale at AKL and then purchase 25 points direct at CCV (or whichever one is currently available), will I get to book either one at 11 months in advance? Or can I only book where my majority points are/ or where my original/first points were purchased? How does that work?
You would be able to book AKV at 11 months using the AKV points.
You would be able to book CCV at 11 months using the CCV points.

You could also do the add-on at AKL. It might not be the best value, but Disney will sell you the points if they have them (and they probably will).

Ok, so I would have to have enough at both for a full trip, or I could book a few days at AKV and then move over to CCV for the remainder of our trip??

How does that work at 7 months? Could I use all of the points from both locations for another resort, let's say BLT? Would it have to be booked separately, like the first 3 days are AKV points and the last 3 days are CCV points?

At 7 months or less, you can combine points from different home resorts to make a reservation at any resort.

Or buy half of what you need for a vacation at each resort, bank your points and one year stay at AKV and the next year stay at CCV.

Once points are banked do they still have to be used at the home resort at 11 months?

Banking and borrowing do not change the home resort priority of the pts. You would always need the right "currency" (AKV pts to book AKV, etc.) to book a resort at 11 months out.

To recap, if you buy resale you can:
- book your resort 11 months in advance
- book any other DVC resort 7 months in advance
- use your points to trade into RCI exchanges (not a great value)
- use the Top of the World lounge at BLT when staying on points

You can NOT:
- book members special events (nights in the parks for members only, members cruise, Soaring tour)
- get annual pass discounts
- get merchandising and food discounts
- use the DVC members lounge at Epcot
- use your points to book non DVC resorts, ABD or cruises (an awful value anyway)

I may have forgotten some of the minor ones.
You get all the benefits if you buy a 25 points contracts, the AP discount being perhaps the only that can make a financial difference (while my favorite is the DVC lounge at Epcot, but that is not guaranteed to stay for long anyway)

Is Vero Beach a DVC location that is available to those who purchased resale?

So aside from the annual pass discount(main reason), am I correct that there really is no other reason to buy a small contract direct from Disney at your Home resort?

That's the main reason currently. IMO the next most important reason is to have options going forward. There are a few other discounts plus you get access to member only events. If one can plan it as part of the buy in process, it shouldn't add that much to the overall cost unless one is looking small anyway. In that case it may either make sense to just do resale and forego the discount for many or in some cases, to just go direct if looking very small or at higher end options. For one who doesn't own, buying resale for the cash exchange options is unreasonable in every circumstance I can think of. If you already own and have the options, that can be a different decision making process although in very limited circumstances where the number of points involved is small.
