All I can speak to personally is Aug 7-17, where Epcot security was uncharged from last year. We had gone through security at the Contemporary and still had to go through Epcot security.
You will go through security before getting on the monorail (at TTC or a monorail resort) as the TTC and MK monorail entrances are in the security bubble.
And you go through security after disembarking the Epcot Monorail.
It would be great if they made a ramp so you could exit the monorail into the secure area of Epcot, and avoid being checked twice.
It's a shame that they can't route crowds at Epcot such that you don't have to go through security twice -- seems a waste of time. I will say that at the times we traveled/hopped security at the monorail resorts was pretty quick.
Walk out Epcot turnstile, up monorail ramp, and ride to TTC, change to Express, go to MK. You do not have to leave the secure zone leave so no additional screening.

Yes, the Epcot monorail entrance is in the secure zone, as is the TTC monorail entrances, so only 1 screening to get to MK.
(Unfortunately it's not that way going to Epcot)
