So my DVC trip starts June 12 and I want to go if WDW is open. However I will probably cancel if it is just the resorts that are open and not the parks. I don’t want to debate what will be open June 12. I just want to clarify what will happen to my points. I don’t want to cancel now, since I still want to go if even 1 Park is open. But under the usual rules, if I cancel after May 12, then my points go into holding. I know the holding rules changed, so that if the resorts are closed then my points don’t go into holding. But by what I just read today it says this applies to all stays in the next 30 days. So maybe I don’t have to worry.
For example, if On June 1 they announce they are going to open the resorts in 1 week, but not open the parks till July 1. Then I would want to cancel. The resort I want to stay in would be open during my reservation, but the parks are not, so I don’t want to go. In that case I thought my points would go into holding. However based on what I just read this morning, it looks like they would not go into holding in this example since the no holding change applies to all reservations within the next 30 days (which is the normal holding window). So DVC holding is completely gone right now correct? I don’t need to worry about the possibility of my June 12 trip points going into holding... right?
