The day had finally arrived for our first trip to DLRP we were all excited. :cheer2: The kids all got up at 6am and we were all sitting around waiting for the taxi to take us to the airport for about 2 hours. The taxi arrived as booked at 10.15 to take us to Birmingham Airport for our Flight to CDG. The flight left at 1pm on time and was uneventful. It was DD’s first flight so we were abit concerned how shed be but she loved it especially the take off!!!! I can honestly say the plane was the smallest I have ever been on, we flew with BA and the plane had 2 seats on the left and 1 seat on the right and consisted of 17 rows….just glad it didn’t have propellers lol.

On arrival at CDG our luggage arrived very quickly, probably due to the small number of passengers on our flight. We made our way out of arrivals and waited for the taxi we had booked with the hotel. I don’t know if we came out in the wrong place but out taxi didn’t turn up, we waited 30 mins, and we couldn’t see the red Disney bus either so we got a private taxi direct to the hotel. The taxi cost us 100 euros which is what we had been quoted for the hotel taxi anyway.

Check in at the hotel was very smooth and quick, we were allocated a room on the second floor number 201. We were given our keys and asked what time we wanted breakfast and were given the cards for breakfast. Off we all went towards the lift to go to the second floor. This is when we started wondering around like idiots…..we got in the lift and noticed that the floor numbers were all odd numbers started at 1 and going up to 7…in our wisdom we thought we’d press 3 and then drag the suitcases up a flight of stairs. So we pressed number 3 the doors closed, a few seconds later the doors opened again and we hadn’t moved anywhere!!! As there was 2 lifts we thought we try the other one just in case one was odds and one evens. So we got out the lift and into the other one but the same thing happened. We just stood there looking at each other and going so what do we do now??? When a nice lady came walking past obviously noticed the glazed expression on our faces and asked if we had a room on the second floor. We said we did and she told us we had to walk past the swimming pool, round the corner and there were another 2 lifts there that would take us to the second floor. Oh and apparently reception was on the 3rd floor not the ground floor as we’d assumed so that answers the question as to why the lift wasn’t moving lol.

Anyway we made our way to the room. We had booked a crew room for 6 and we were pleasantly surprised, the bunk room was very spacious, all the beds were comfy and there was more than enough storage space for all our clothes and the 2 suitcases.
We unpacked and then went to explore the hotel as the kids were restless. We made our way up a flight of stairs and back past the swimming pool to the reception area. There we went down a flight of stairs to the kids play areas, all the kids loved scally wags, its an indoor play area with slide, climbing frames etc so they went in there. There is also a pirate ship for them to play on. We had a drink while we waited for them to play….6 euros for a pint of lager and 3 euros 20 for a glass of coke/lemonade or apple/orange juice.

After an hour we went back to the room as we had a table booked at Café Mickey for that night at 7.30. The girls all put there princess dresses on and we made our way to the shuttle bus stop. We didn’t have to wait long, the bus arrived and we jumped on…when we got to Disney Village it was quiet busy but we made our way straight down to Café Mickey and waited in the queue at the door. We were a little early for our booking but we were soon seated upstairs. A waiter came and took our drinks order from us within minutes of being seated, we ordered 2 pints of lager and 4 apple juices for the kids which came in Café Mickey cups, that they got to keep. We then ordered our food, my OH and I both had the Chip and Dales fish and chips, DD had the Mickey Pizza and all 3 DSD’s had nuggets followed by ice-cream. The food all arrived hot and everyone enjoyed what they had ordered. Although the girls were distracted due the characters coming and going. All the characters interacted very well with the girls. They managed to get quiet a few autographs and pictures that night…..they met Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Tigger, Pluto, Eeyore, Mr Smee from Peter Pan, Friar Tuck and Gideon from Pinnochio.

The bill came to 122 euros for the 6 of us….expensive maybe but we wouldn’t have missed it for the world, it was a brilliant night and experience all the kids will remember. I would highly recommend it to anyone with or without kids.

We left Café Mickey and made our way down Disney Village. We had a quick look in the shops but it had started to rain and was getting quiet late so we made our way back to the bus station and got the shuttle that was there back to the hotel. Then it was bed time for us all as we had an early morning call arranged for 7am as we’d opted for breakfast at 7.30am !!!!!
