We have returned from our long awaited trip to Disney World. This was the trip my wife and I had planned since we spent the last day of our Honeymoon at Disney in October of 2002. We noticed lots of little ones walking around in Halloween Costumes and wondered what the heck was going on. That's when when we first heard about MNSSHP. We decided right then that if we were blessed with a child, that MNSSHP would be a MUST DO!
Little Claire was born in May of 2004, and the planning began soon after.
Our first Day at the Magic Kingdom was Tuesday Oct. 14. The weather could not have been more fabulous.
Claire and I went on the rides, while Mommy stayed with the stroller and supplies. We first went on the Aladdin Magic Carpets. Then we all went to the Jungle Cruise. This was my first time on the Cruise, and after reading some of the reports from this board, I was prepared for all the puns and comedic remarks.
It was then on to the Pirates of the Carribbean and Haunted Mansion. She wasn't a real big fan of the Mansion, despite the fact that she really loves Halloween and all the decorations that go with it. There wasn't anything in there that she hasn't seen in every Scooby-Doo movie she has.
After lunch at Pecos Bill's, we were off to Dumbo and Cinderella's Merry-Go-Round. I then grabbed a few Fast Passes for Peter Pan, and it was off to Mickey's Tunetown Fair.
After a little shopping we found the line to meet the Princesses. This was a real Big Deal. Claire is a real Disney Princess Junky. Last year she was Jasmine for Halloween and this year she will be Belle. After about an hour in line, the Disney Magic really hit home. We walked into a room with Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella!! What a special moment indeed.
The lipstick prints came from Sleeping Beauty!
It was then on to Dinner at Columbia House. A special thanks goes out the the Cast Members there. They were very friendly to Claire, and presented her with a special Disney Princess Pin. It will be cherished for years to come.
Then it was on to Small World and finally on to Peter Pan. Claire likes to play the Peter Pan game with me...basically I act like Captain Hook and chase her around...So this ride was really fun for all of us.
We then scouted out a spot for the fireworks, and just relaxed for a while.
The fireworks were awesome-as expected-especially after someone around us told Claire to watch out for Tinkerbell.
We closed out the evening with the traditional buying of the Balloon. Mommy and Claire waited at the top level of the Train Station while I went hunting for one of those "First Trip to Disney" buttons we had been seeing all day.
It was then I accidentally discovered the hat shop near Tony's Restaurant.
I saw that people where getting names put on their ears...how cool! They were about to close in a few minutes, so I ran back to the Train Station and told DW to drop Claire's ears down to me. Success in the nick of time.
Claire was asleep before we even made it back to HWY 192.
I will follow-up with the MNSSHP report (and pictures) tomorrow.
