Ok, so we have the opportunity to upgrade to garden view Concierge at the polynesian for our trip in june. Right now we have Magic Kingdom View non concierge. We are also doing the dining plan. What would you choose??? the view of the magic kingdom or the concierge service with view of garden???? I've never stayed concierge at the polynesian, but have stayed in a Magic Kingdom view room.....PLease help me decide! :) Should i keep the dining plan if i do go with the concierge???? I don't know what to do!!!

This is DH first trip to disney and my birthday. Also DH doesn't know we have a MK view right now. It's a suprise...but concierge would be nice too!!! ahhhh so confused!!!

Hey I was in the same predicament. We ended up doing GV CL basic dining (we normally get Deluxe dining cause we do a lot of character and signature dining) I went down to basic cause I figured w/ the CL food we would be ok w/ just basic. Also we are big eaters well at least DH & DSs are! :lmao:

So anywho, I decided against the MKV because the lounge has a MKV and pipes in music for fireworks. So I thought go GV CL and STILL have a nice MKV at the lounge.

When I asked a while back a where would you go I couldn't decided between AKL, POLY, and CR, lots of people suggested do POLY GV CL w/o Dining at all. But honestly my Dfamily are big eaters and love the character dining so I wanted to have a dining plan cause personally I like having everything paid for up front! Plus since we are big eaters I really don't think CL's food would fill all us up (maybe I am wrong, am I?)

just my $.02 hope it helps!

Since you're on the deluxe dining plan, you might want to stick with the MK View. I think that would be a great surprise for your DH. CL is great, but there's nothing like waking up and seeing the castle out your window.

I would switch and stay Club Level because at the Polynesian it's done very well and even though you would end up with a Garden View, you can see the Magic Kingdom anytime you want from the lounge since it has a direct view of Cinderella's Castle. So it's a great spot to watch Wishes and the music is also piped into the lounge.

Personally, I would pick the MK view over concierge...while you can see the MK from the Poly lounge, there is a LOT to be said for being able to step out onto your balcony in your jammies to watch the Electric Water Parade and/or the fireworks.

We stayed at the Poly in MK View CL last year. I would have given up concierge in a heartbeat to keep the view instead. Sure, the food and drinks are convenient, but not worth as much as an MK view.

YMMV :)

Don't forget at the Polynesian the 1st floor rooms have a patio, the 2nd floor rooms don't have a balcony and it's the 3rd floor rooms with a balcony. Also there is no guarantee of getting a 3rd floor room because it needs to be requested and it might not happen since it's just a request.

I'd pick club level over the view. The convenience of the lounge, the drinks and snacks, the IPO services, etc. to me outweigh the view from my balcony. Although, in all honesty, we dont spend all that much time out on our balcony in the first place. The CL can also make arrangements for you to take the Wildlife Discovery Safari at AK and will make all of your ADRs and recreation reservations for you. It's a really nice touch for a trip, plus, as others have said, you can view the castle from the lounge. Also, the garden at the Poly is gorgeous -- I dont think you'll have a bad view there. (You can see photos of these rooms and views on the Poly FAQ thread).:)

We loved our Bay view room at the Contemporary and were disappointed when only MK view rooms were left for our next stay.

i know that the tahiti building has balconies on 2nd and 3rd floors. i'm not sure about hawaii ( cl). like i said, i've stayed MK view before and LOVED IT, but also have stayed CL at AKL and Contemporary and LOVED that too! ahhh still don't know what to do. I loved the feelin of waking up to the castle in the morning, and since we are doing dining anyways i might just stick with that. But i do love the idea of the benefits of the food and drinks with CL...im gonna have to think hard about this one!

Hawaii only has balconies on the 3rd floor. Tahiti and 2 others have balconies on the 2nd floor as well. But then, there's no guarantee which building you'll be in unless you're in the Hawaii building. Good luck with your decision -- it's a hard one!:)

I would go for the garden view CL over MK view.

1. The concierge building (Hawaii) is in a better location than the MK view buildings, centrally located for the beach, both pools, boat launch, and monorail.
2. The MK view from the lounge is better than the MK view in ordinary MK view rooms.
3. The food and drinks are very good. In fact, for most nights of our trip, the evening offerings from 5-7 were enough for dinner. And at breakfast time, it's nice to grab some pastries/fruit/coffee/juice/cereal instead of dealing with the busy Captain Cooks.

Bottom line, booking CL will give you the best of both worlds: very good food/service, and an awesome MK view that you can enjoy from the lounge whenever you want. Here's some pictures.

Drinks were almost empty because it was past midnight (the tropical fruit juice is especially popular)

Tikiman's site has the daily food choices displayed. As of December 2008, most of the dinner choices were the same as this website.
