We’re considering dinner & mini golf at Universal CityWalk on the arrival day of our upcoming Disney vacation. I’ll be traveling with my daughter (7), mom and grandma (in her 80s). Has anyone done this? Recommended restaurants?

I don't know that they offer this deal anymore. The only two options I can find for tickets are the Meal & a Movie and the Meal & Blue Man Group.

For those two, the participating restaurants are: Bob Marley, Fusion Bistro Sushi & Sake Bar, Margaritaville and Pat O'Brien's. I believe you also have to choose from a limited menu.

Don't forget to factor in parking costs.

General Parking
Before 6PM: $25
After 6PM: $10

We did the golf, it's cute. Was pricier than I anticipated.

Wide variety of eats, if you haven't been some are off on side walkways, so I would study online what they offer. Lately we have only eaten at NBC Sports Grill and The Toothsome Chocolate Emporium. I would do both again in a heartbeat. One is just a big sports bar/grill but our food has been good. The other is highly themed and fun.

You might consider I-Drive 360 instead (https://i-drive360.com/guest-information/) - lots to do here, many restaurants, and free parking. Pirate Cove Adventure Golf is also right next to the complex.

Very interesting. Sounds like it is new. Good to know.

- It was not for me a year ago before I got my AP - it was the $6.

- I pulled that copy and paste from a page from their website.

- I also found this on the website, so they have a couple different things listed.

"Introducing free self-parking after 6 pm for all guests (not valid for Halloween Horror Nights™. Additional restrictions may apply and subject to change without notice)."

I believe for a limited time last year they beta tested a reduced parking fee after 6pm, this was not well received (as expected) and it was quickly changed back to being free after 6pm.. As stated on the website, I believe the only exception is during HHN event nights..

We did the mini golf one trip. I agree with PP it was pricier than anticipated, and it was also somewhat crowded. We felt rushed. The course was cute, but nothing special or different than what we have back home. As far as restaurants at City Walk, we like them all. Toothsome has a great atmosphere for all ages - kids would get a kick out of it and wide variety of food options. We love Antojitos too, but it can be pricey there and Mexican food isn't for everyone.

Have you considered staying at Disney and doing the mini golf there? Maybe having dinner at a different resort or something?

Then you have a science fiction themed mini golf course back home?

Not sure why that called for snark since its my opinion. All mini golf courses anywhere have different themes. I meant the holes were your typical mini golf holes, nothing special - small hills, windmill, two level holes, rocks, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary or that sets it apart from any other mini golf course, IMO.

No snark intended. I'm a fan of mini-golf courses with less common themes. I was planning to visit the CityWalk one for its science fiction theme. When you said you have something similar back home, I was interested that there might be another place with a science fiction themed mini-golf course, as the CityWalk one is the first I've heard of with that theme.

Then I apologize if I took that wrong. To answer your question, our home mini golf courses are outer space theme and tropical themed. Similar type of feel but if someone is a big Sci Fi fan, then I guess City Walk's is unique for that.

We did the golf last month, and really enjoyed it. We found it to be the nicest themed and most well kept mini golf I've seen in a while (no rough edges on the turf, no chipped paint, etc.). We did the sci-fi theme and there were several holes with pretty interesting mechanics: ball elevator, wind tunnel, etc. It was a bit pricey, but we had a good time. It wasn't particularly crowded, but we let folks with smaller parties play through - for the price we certainly weren't going to rush through and not enjoy all the neat stuff. We did do it at dusk which made the light up effects kinda cool.
