We've booked the full day trip to Paris and really looking forward to it.

Does anyone have any tips of where might be handy for lunch? I'm guessing that our coach will drop us in an area where we should be able to find something to eat.

Any experiences?

Thanks in advance :goodvibes

There are loads of really fab cheap restaurants in Paris but also some very expensive (not worth the money ) ones as well - mainly near the main tourist attractions.
If you are anywhere near Notre Dame at lunchtime you could cross the river into the Latin Quarter/Left Bank. This is the student quarter so there are some really nice cheap and cheerful places here. The trouble is there are lots of little streets so we could never find the same one again so kept just trying different ones.

Thanks for this. I think we'll be near Notre Dame after the first part of the river cruise, so I might do that.

there are a few places to eat in here .. we just went outside and went to mcdonalds , however there were a few wee cafes in the area

Thanks :thumbsup2 That will keep the kids happy - all the way to Paris for a Mcds......sounds just like us ;)

If you are dropped at the Louvre and want to go the McDo go inside the Carrousel du Louvre (entrance in on the Rue de Rivoli) and there is a really "nice" one in the food court along with a McCafé which has pretty decent coffee.

Avoid the one that is a bit further along on the Rue de Rivoli opposite Starbucks as it's not very clean (the toilets are unmentionable) and mice have been spotted running around :scared1:

There's some shops in there too like Sephora, Nature et Decouvertes and you can see the inverted pyramid.

It's also a quick entrance into the Louvre as most people queue on the surface to go through the main pyramid.

Which you can then see as you walk through and stand underneath .Worth a look as it's free, ticket controls are done at the top of the escalators leading off to the different wings of the Louvre so no pb to go through and look around at the main pyramid :thumbsup2
