I know I know yet another stroller thread. :)
Looking at renting the Baby Jogger city mini stollers from Orlando Strollers or Magic Strollers. My son and niece will both be 5 1/2 yrs old when we go to WDW. Are the city minis that they rent easy to get in and out of? Also is there a bit of a recline even in the up right position, kind of looks like there is. A five year old wants to sit up a see everything not feel like they are constantly laying down.
I saw online a Baby Jogger City Micro? anyone heard of that model before? Those are cheap enough, I might just buy one of those.
thanks for any advice.

We rented from Magic Strollers a few weeks ago for my DD who just turned 5 and is 40lbs and 40 inches tall.
She loved it, we didn't use the harness straps so she was able to get in and our with no problem. Boy the Citi Mini was a breeze to open and close, we loved having the parent console and found we could fit 3 drinks in it.

Great stroller overall, easy to push. The only thing that was a little irritating was that my DD would often lock the front wheels as there is s lock in the front right where her feet landed so she would hit the button by mistake.

We are considering purchasing this model to share between a 5 year old and possibly for a 6 year old to sit in when resting. Walmart has the The First Years - Jet Lightweight Stroller for 35- 39 dollars. Two would be cheaper than renting and you wouldn't have to navigate a double wide stroller. It supports 50 pounds. Weighs 11 pounds.

Are you wanting a double or two singles? I think the weightlimit on a double is 50 lbs per seat. They do recline a bit- but my 5 yr olds was very comfy and I think she could see just fine. We own a Micro Double and I would not recommend it for a Disney trip. It dosn't have nearly the sun shade coverage the Mini does and it barely reclines at all. We rent every year from Orlando Stroller rentals and you can always ask questions via their email or FB page! Plus if you are a fan on FB you are entered for a monthly free rental contest!

We bought a City Micro for our last Disney trip. My younger boys were 6 and 5 at the time, and since I knew I would be split with them a lot of the time (dh had the older two), I wanted to have a stroller to help me survive! My boys were both around 44 pounds, and it worked out great for them. The seats didn't really recline, but were not at a straight angle. They could see everything, yet relax when needed. The sun shade was adequate. I could not see a reason to pay more for the next model up, when Disney was all I would use it for! Folding/opening was very easy. I do wish the basket underneath was easier to access once the kids were sitting..and I wish the basket could have held more weight, as it was dragging when we put our little cooler underneath. It was really easy to push, and fit through all of the door openings. Overall, it was a great purchase (it would have cost almost what we paid to rent for the week). If my boys had been younger and would have gotten more use out of it, I would probably get the mini.

Here's a shot of them trying it out before we left.

Here's my daughter in the mini from Orlando Stroller Rentals.

She is actually 7 in this picture. She's 48in tall and slightly over 50lbs. I rented the stroller for my son (10 months at the time), but our first night after "wishes", I put him in my Ergo (carrier) and let her ride in it leaving MK. She fell asleep during the long wait for the bus.

Wow everyone thanks so much for the advice, all of it was great and will help me make a decision. The pictures are a big help, seeing bigger kids in them give me a good idea since most pics online show small toddlers.
I wasn't clear in my first post but I have one son (5.5) so I'll be getting a single but my sister has two girls (4 and 5.5) so she is looking into getting a double, probably renting. So I'll be sharing your advice with her. Her 5.5 yr old is a big girl so wasn't sure she'd be ok in the baby jogger strollers, but after seeing your pics I think she will be just fine.
I'm leaning toward buying a city micro since it's affordable at $100 and because there may be a few times this summer we could use it before we head to WDW. But than again i don't know, DH will be happy if he doesn't have to lug a stroller around at the airport. Guess we'll have to talk it out, I'm sure whatever we decide will be fine. Thanks again.

We had my 6 year old in it last September. She was 45 lbs and 45 inches and did fit comfortably, but was pushing it. She is now about 47 inches and about 47 lbs and doubt she would still fit comfortably. It all depends on how large your kids are!

I have the double city micro for my tripelts and love it. It's easy to fold and push. The girls could sit and relax while mommy pushed. God di I wish I could sit in it sometimes lOL I too wouldn't spend the extra for the mini. The only real difference between the mini and micro is the sun shade on the micro is smaller and the sit doesn't recline as much as the mini. If I had a baby, I would probably get the mini just for the full recline and the extra large sun shade but with toddlers and older, I would pick the micro.

what about buying it online and getting it shipped to Disney? Then you only have it in one of the airport legs of the trip. That's what I did. Once you get it, all you have to do is snap the weels in place. No need for tools.

we were pondering which one to reserve also, for your 2 boys 5 @45 lbs and 4@39lbs

so we went to Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby and actually looked at them, put the kids in and pushed them around the isles.

We were pretty sure about reserving the City Mini from Magic Stroller, until we put them in the BOB and pushed that baby is like a dream !

I really really never thought we would pay for a stroller rental, but we are for sure going with the BOB !

i waited too late to reserve it looks like. we are coming next weekend for a week and none of the BOB's are available. I'm holding out hope that somebody cancels and I catch it between now and the 29th.

We just returned from a trip and own a BOB duallie which I believe is what is rented by OSR. If they are renting singles then they just started. We brought our BOB and while I love this stroller, we will not bring it again. It pushes so easily (literally with one finger) and turns on a dime but it is a beast to fold and is heavy. If you are planning on using WDW transportation be aware it is difficult to fold and is very bulky. I cannot imagine getting it on a bus that was even close to full, much less packed like WDW busses usually are. We drove ourselves which was fine. Just wanted those of you who plan on renting BOBs that the fold is a definate downside to this otherwise wonderful stroller.

The BOB is very similar to the Baby Jogger City Elite double (not the mini) that Magic and Orlando rent - it's a good option if the Bobs aren't available. Same weight limit, dream to push, better sunshades. :goodvibes

Well, my 5.5 yr old niece came over this weekend, I had just gotten a new scale (I'm trying to lose weight for WDW) so I had my niece get on it so I could make sure she was around 50 lbs for the stroller her mom was going to rent. Big shock she is 60 lbs. Not sure what to suggest for my sister to get her now. What is the BOB rated for?
I bought a baby jogger city micro for my son he's 40 lbs, just waiting for UPS to deliver it. I'm hoping it work well for us.

The BOB single is rated for 70 lbs total (includes content) and the duallie is rated for up to 100lbs (including contents). OP, you mentioned in your first post your niece wants to sit up and look at everything. The BOB seats do recline quite a bit in the highest position. I will repeat what I wrote in my first post. This is a great stroller as long as you are not relying on WDW transportation. It is heavy with a very bulky fold. We will not be bringing ours back when we go in December. Not sure about the weight and fold of the baby jogger citi elite. You tube has lots of videos on strollers showing the folding btw. We just went with a group of 12 (6 kids) and the two almost 5 year olds spent very little time in the stroller. Maybe she might just rent from Disney if she needs it.
