Sigh...another stroller thread!! I'm toying with getting a city mini, but it doesn't have an adjustable leg rest. I ditched my combi for DS when he was 3 for a Peg Perego so he'd be more comfy and hopefully nap.

I love everything about the citi mini except that and I'm afraid I might regret not having it when DD is 2 or 3. Thoughts?

Or are there any other strollers for very tall kids that have the leg rest? Tall like City Mini, Britax Blink and Maclaren Techno XLR?

What Perego do you have?

I have the P3 and it works well for my niece's. They have been 4 and 5 when using it. I'm taking it again this year and the youngest niece will be 5.5 yrs. I would say the oldest niece was at least 44" tall the last time I took her to WDW with the stroller and she fit fine in it.

We have the new Britax B-Agile, which is a lot like the BJCM, and my tall 2.5 y/o is very comfy in it. Seems like she has lots of room to grow as well.

I chose it over the BJCM because I liked the curved back axle better (I kept kicking the straight one on the BJCM), the storage basket is accessible from the side when the seat is reclined, and the handle just felt nicer to me.

for what the city mini lacks in foot rest it makes up in seat length. The xlr is a beast and a pain to push IMO. The frame isn't solid and I sold mine w/ in a couple of days of buying it. Also I am 5'3" and it was practically bigger than me. The baby jogger city elite has an adjustable foot rest but that is alot of stroller. I would go w/ a ryder model mac before a techno but that's again my opinion from the push. Right now in my fleet of strollers I have an I'coo Pluto it has good tight solid frame great push and adjustable foot rest, it has seat back height at 18 inches and the seat width is 15 inches compared to the 13 on mac models.

My dd has special needs so I have been through a few different brands and models and the Pluto she has the most room in. She is 8 and weighs 65plus pounds of dead weight and is 46 inches tall, my nephew is all of the same measurements except for weight and he is an inch taller than her and they both still have some inches in height on the back.

DS is 6.5 with autism and low tone so he needs a place to hide and rest at times (more at disney). He's 60 lbs and 51 inches, hence the large stroller need. DD will be 14 months when we go, but I frequently wear her in a baby carrier so DS can sit in the stroller when he needs.

I currently have a peg perego atlantico that I bought used 3 years ago and is def showing its age (I've had to tighten loose screws in the frame and such). I think it only goes to 45-50 lbs, but I let DS sit in it anyway. He fits if I remove the snack tray and he can put his feet on the foot rest, though his knees are bent high.

In our non-WDW days, he only needs the stroller occasionally. But last year at WDW, we borrowed a baby trend sit and stand and it was a BEAST. DH thought we should borrow that again, but I don't want to fight with it at the airport, buses, just being able to turn it alone is terrible. Plus, it won't allow DD to recline and sleep. So I thought bringing two strollers would be better. I'd like one with a good basket with recline that could be my permanent, which I guess I could bring my current PP (though its HUGE when folded, but we've taken it to DLR many times) or maybe something like city mini would be it. Then if we had a second umbrella type for DS to push around WDW, that would be small enough folded to carry on buses? Not sure how this would work. I imagine having to drag this second stroller everywhere, wish there was a way to attach it to the main stroller?

We tried a city mini (and elite, but really out of my price range unless I can find one used) and some Macs at the sore yesterday. He sat in the mini fine except the tiny foot rest really only has room for one foot! :rotfl: Not sure how that will work with his feet hanging off. And the main problem on the macs was the distance between the seat and the foot rest is ridiculously short so he practically has his knees in his face! :lmao:

Oh, the decisions! :headache:

We rented a Phil & Teds on our last trip and fell in love with it. Our DD is 4'6 " 65 lbs and she fit great in it, perfect for taller children. We had the tandem and even with her brother in it with her it was not a problem for them or us. We had rented from www.orlandostrollerstogo.com

honestly you are going to have that problem with any lightweight that you go w/ and even some of the bigger strollers. I have two in mind that I can think of right now that would be decent options b/c I have most of the same issues that you do. the bob would be really good he will still have knees in is face some but the foot well gives him some room. I would keep an eye out for both the elite and the bob if you want to purchase one if not and you think renting might be an option www.orlandostrollerrentals.com has both of these strollers available as singles and doubles. the next stroller or two is the aprica cadence it has a 75 pound weight limit and seat to ground is 19 inches (seat to foot rest is 9inches) and the stroller only weights 14 pounds. the angle of the seat didnt work for me so I am selling mine the aprica presto is probably the better option of the two while the seat back isn't as high at 18 instead of 21 inches the seat to foot rest is 11inches and the seat to ground is 18 and it weights just under 14 pounds. the width of the both of these seat is 13 inches but both have the 75 pound weight limit.

I enjoyed my mini it doesn't steer w/ dd in it anymore so I don't have it but it and my elite have been great w/ her b/c of the large canopy she likes the isolation when things get kinda crazy.

I was going to suggest the Elite which is what we have but it is pricey. We chose it over the mini and select specifically because of the additional height and weight maximums. Renting might be a good option for your trip.

Baby planet Endangered Species. We looked at some of the Maclarens but just couldn't justify spending +$200 now. We found the BP stroller on sale and I really loved the way it rolled. It did really well at Disneyland - we could roll from park to park to hotel and she was happy as a clam.

We also have a Peg P3 but it's just too cumbersome for quick trips and now that we really only use the stroller for days out - zoo, aquarium, Disney - we wanted something more compact.

My parents have a First years Ignite that is our fallback and it works decently... the Baby Planet has more recline and some leg options we liked. We took the Ignite on our last trip to Disney and it fit our purposes well and was easy to transport.

we have the same issue, my son is 4 1/2 and has high tone in his legs which case him to have leg cramps if he walked too much. I am trying to find a stroller but they are either too small or too expensive. My pediatrician suggested getting a special needs stroller ( Special Tomato was the brand she suggested) and that my insurance might cover it. unfortunately even if we go that route it wont be here before our trip...but we might get it anyways because he might need to get botox shots in his legs or surgery if the AFO's and PT doesnt work....

I measured my Atlantico and it's 21 inches in the seat! The canopy isn't much higher, but it's soft and when DS feels the need, he pulls it over his head anyway. So I think anything less than a 20 inch seat back isn't gonna work since he's already so tall out of ours. :headache:

I saw the first years fit and ignite today, those had 18 and 19 inch backs if I remember (BTW, they're on sale online at target for $35 and $40 right now).

I also measured the mini and it was 20 inches and the elite looked like it measured the same??

So I'm back to the Britax Blink, just have to find one to try. If anyone figures out any other right now, I'm all ears. (or if I find a money tree and get an elite! ;) )

What one are you talking about with the 21 inches? Is that a 21 inch seat back?

Baby Planet is only 18 inches. :(

Can anyone comment on the seat back heights (and to canopy) of these strollers?
Cybex Ruby (can't figure out if it's 20 or 22?)
Cybex Topaz (does it have an adjustable height canopy like the new 2011 models?)

The Perego P3 has:

19" seatback height
15" seat width
8" length from seat to foot rest in down position
18" length from seat to ground

What about a City Micro? They seem to be a little bigger in the seat width wise. www.albeebaby.com has them on sale.

The Blink has a 19inch seat back as well. The cadence has the 21 inch seat back. From what I have read the ruby has a 20 inch seat back. The topaz has an 18 inch seat back. I don't have experience w/ the cybex line so I can't be helpful there and I don't care for the blink. most of my info and decisions are based on measurements and once you've tried one you have tried them all. Smaller wheels over time will give you a harder push, and while I love love loved my city mini it bears too much weight on the front tire the bigger they get which again makes for a harder push, elite even has its moments but over all I have still been happy with it. The mini and elite have the same seat size at least they did when I measured my elite compared to current measurements of the mini that I have. For the most part you are looking at between 17 and 21 inches on seat back height.
