citronella torches?

The rule is that you are not allowed to have anything with an open flame, so torches are against the rules.

Now, with that said, I have used them with no reaction from FW CM.

We have seen CMs ask campers to put out torches with open flames. I have also seen people using portable fire rings with no problem. Both are against the rules. I guess it just depends on who is on duty that night.

We just got back recently and I saw some folks using the bucket citronella. You might can try the mosquito coils (they don't have an actual flame so maybe they would be better) To the best of my recollection, they burn kinda of like a cigarette does.

We were told (a note was left on our site) that we could not use the torches, so we thought ok just won't lite them. The next day our torches had a note to remove them:o We were not thinking about "open flame" when we took them.

I have been wondering myself about the bucket citronella candles for use at the cabins. I guess that means they're not allowed, either.

I don't know the "official" rule on the bug candles but we have always used 2 or 3 at a time and have never had anyone say anything. We have one of the big buckets, one of the 3 wick metal cone Off types and a small glass one that we put a candle in and use for mood light and bug protection. I have little faith in their actual effectiveness but we like to burn them anyway.
