I am thinking about making a ADR for Citrico's on christmas day for dinner because I saw on allears that they have a special holiday menu- we were going to do Le Cellier with candelight processional but after looking at TGM I nixed the Epcot plan for HS but fantasmic package doesn't appeal to me none of the restaurant seem to have very good reviews from anyone
has anyone been to Citrico's (doesn't matter if for christmas or not) and if so how was the food? and even better if you have pics please share!!

We have eaten at Citricos and the meal was nice, not the best meal ever at WDW, but nice non the less. In the Studios we like to eat at the Hollywood Brown Derby, we have had some good meals there in the past.

I just did a review of it in my Dining Review (link in my siggie.) I really enjoyed it. In a nutshell: absolutely delicious food. Wonderful setting. Good waitstaff, but they disappeared at the end of the meal. Not entirely sure what happened. In my opinion, for a signature restaurant at Disney, it's one of the better ones. I'm not a huge fan of Cali Grill, I think Narcoosee's is priced too high for what you get, as is the Flying Fish. My absolute favorite is Jiko, but I think Citricos is second best. So in other words, I give Citricos a :thumbsup2

You took some really great pics!!! Would you say that it is child friendly, even though I know you didn't have children if you were dining there would you be bothered by a child sitting at the table next to you? I'm curious about the food and the setting, i've read some reviews that GF besides 1900 can be rather stuffy :guilty:

Not stuffy at all. You'll probably find the fewest # of kids at Citrico's than almost any other WDW restaurant. HOWEVER--there will be kids for sure, so don't be suprised. Hopefully any near your table will have parents with enough sense to control any "problem" behavior.
We've dined there at least 7 or 8 times and always found it very good.

I agree that there will be children there especially on Christmas Day. We dined at Citricos Christmas Eve one year and saw more children than normal and almost all were in their Christmas finery....very cute. Some large family groups too.

We've had very good meals at Citricos. Our last dinner there in October was just about perfect. We're celebrating my DH's birthday there next month.

But I what does TG say about the Processsional dinner? The two times we were at WDW at Christmas we did the CP package Christmas night and made wonderful memories. The park was perfectly manageable especially with the package.

Oh good it sounds like a winner! I wanted something nice but not stuffy just different
Apparently Epcot is very busy Christmas day so I figured maybe doing it Christmas eve when we get there it will be just as memorable even though I would have liked to do it Christmas I would rather go to a park that isn't overcrowded plus I think my kids might prefer HS over Epcot and its there vacation lol

I'm sure it the CP will be as special Christmas Eve. It's such a perfect way to celebrate.

The two times we were at Epcot on Christmas, it just wasn't that bad by the time we entered....probably 4 or 5pm. Maybe it's busy earlier or it could have changed. The Mk however was nuts!

Enjoy Citricos.

We have eaten at Citrico's many times and always enjoyed it. The last time we were there we ate in the Chef's Domain with some good friends. The menu is no different, just the atmosphere-which is much quieter than the main dining room. Great place and we will return many times in the future.

thanks for the good tips!

We had kids next to us at two tables. They were both very well behaved. Hardly even noticed there were kids!

Can u see Wishes/fireworks or water parade from that restaurant? Thanks. :wizard: :thumbsup2

No, not really. You MIGHT catch a few stray fireworks by happenstance, but that's it. If that's your aim, you'd be best to choose CG, Narcoossees or Ohana's for the fireworks view. Citrico's does have windows (although not for all seating) and you look out over the GF grounds and the lagoon area where they keep the boats, but your view is totally obstructed by some buildings and the fact that you are set back a bit.

We saw some fireworks, but it wasn't the best. I would book dinner either before or after the fireworks (still here, because I think it's better than the others) and then walk down to the dock.

I agree with the poster who suggested Hollywood Brown Derby. We think the food is wonderful, & it has a more casual environment. I've heard great things about Citrico too. We're deciding between there & Jiko, for one night, our next trip. It sounds like you're a little iffy on the atmosphere though. If thats the case, I wouldn't hesitate to book HBD instead.

DH and I enjoyed Citricos, especially the yummy Cinderella cake with a tiara (yes, I took a picture). I would say the atmosphere isn't really stuffy, but it is slightly formal. There was a boy at the table next to us with a cute blazer on and the best table manners...maybe age 10? Only child I saw in the whole place (this was early December so maybe they were all in school).

We walked out to the pier where you catch the water taxi and saw the fireworks after dinner and then the water parade (sorry, I forget its proper name). Just check the timing to do that. And take a coat! December was colder than I thought it would be.

Oh, and we had drinks in the bar upstairs at the GF...forget the name of that too! And saw the gingerbread house. COOL!
