there are several appetizers at citricos that look terrific...the shrimp, the crab and the arancini...also the salad looks interesting
how large are the appetizers and would they be large enough to have 2 plus a salad as your meal?
any comments on citricos would be appreciated!
thanks

The appetizers are pretty fantastic, but my DH & I would not be satisfied with just appetizer & a salad. The appetizers are not terribly big...I always get the crab, and DH usually gets the shrimp, then we will split a salad if anything (We don't always get a salad), and we each get an entree. We are not big dessert people, so we skip that too.
So in answer to your question, I don't personally think I would be satisfied with that. If it were lunch, yes. Dinner, no. Comfortable yes, but satisfied, heck no :rotfl:

Edited to add: Citricos is one of our favorite restaurants, in my avatar pic, that is where we were :)

The appetizers are the same size as just about any upscale restaurant.

I often get a soup or salad for my first course and an appetizer for my entree. It's plenty of food for me. Both my husband and I find the serving sizes at WDW to be outrageous.

Citricos appetizer menu is limited but it's good and I've skipped entrees the last two times we've dined there.

I love the apps at Citricos. I've had two apps (one as an app, one as an entree) and find that to be plenty of food. Of course I do have dessert there as well. ;) Don't miss those either, they're fantastic!

Point is, I will sub an app as my entree sometimes at many of the Disney signatures and it's still more than enough food.

Here are my reviews of Citricos. They have photos of appetizers so you can see serving sizes:

We've done all appetizer meals at California Grill and Jiko. I think that without also splitting a flatbread pizza, we might have left a bit wanting. My suggestion would be to go ahead with your plan, and perhaps add one more appetizer to share. That should in no way be too much food, but you should leave feeling like you've had a good variety and a fine amount of dinner.

1) We always have always liked the duck confit & cheese ravioli.
. . . delicious
. . . enough for the wife and I to share
2) Then we have chilled asparagus & ham for the salad course.
3) Frequently the above, along with wine and maybe dessert.
4) If we eat, I like the veal shank.

I would say they might be if you are a light eater to begin with.

I had the shrimp app. I think there might have been 5 or 6 shrimp. It has a lot of broth with it and our server suggested we use the broth to dip with the olive bread. It was fantastic.

Dh had the arancini. I think there were only about 3 rice balls and there really was not alot of sauce with it, so it was pretty dry.

I also had the salad with the peaches and almonds that they had.

My dh could not just do 2 apps as the main meal. I have done 2 apps as the main meal but that was at the Brown Derby last May and it was so hot out I didnt feel like eating alot etc.

You will love Citricos no matter what you order. Its a great place. Enjoy! We are going again in May too.
