Our family will be at Disney on January 22 thru the 30th. We are staying Poly Concierge and the kids do not know this. They are 12 and 8 and will be very excited. Two years ago we were upgraded to Concierge (Lagoon view) and now my husband and I are spoiled (disney knows what they are doing when they give upgrades). Anyway, we are not doing the meal plan this time, just want to do what we want and be able to cancel if we want. So far, I have the following lunches and dinners:

Kona Cafe(dinner), Coral Reef(lunch), Jiko, Sci-Fi (lunch), Hoop de doo, Ohana Character breakfast - last morning, Chef Mickeys last night and Le Cellier. I also have CRT for lunch with my daughter following her BBB at the Castle. I know some of these reservations will change if we do not feel like eating but am thinking of trying either Citricos or Narcoses(sp?) for dinner. Which one would you choose? I have a feeling we will probably cancel Le Celier and go with one of the restaurants from the Grand Flouridian only because we did this restaurant two years ago. I would like to try something different even though Le Cellier was great. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have never been to WDW during this time of the year you are going to love it. We were there the same time this past January and loved the crowds. And I have to agree with you on concierge; we were upgraded at the WL for our first visit to WDW in Aug. 08 and ended up going CL last January at the YC and we ended up going CL at the WL for our Christmas 09 visit.

As for choosing between Citroco's or Narcoossee's that is a tough call. I personally love Narcoossee's and is a must visit for us each time we are at WDW. I found Citroco's to be nice with good service and is quiter than Narcoossee's. However, I personally don't like the menu as much. I enjoyed the Filet Sicilian several days ago there but that was really the only thing on the menu that I really found appealing(my personal tastes). They have a pork dish with pork bellys(can't remember the name) that just didn't sound to appealing. I also am not the fondest for veal shank or braised short ribs that were on the menu.

As for Narcoosee's; it is a bit louder than Citroco's and perhaps a little more laid back, but still upscale. I personally love the surf & turf. The steak is melt in your mouth delicious and the lobster tail is good. Not great not bad, but good. They also have whole Maine lobster on the menu, and the grilled fillet mignon is outstanding. And the meal is never complete without getting the almond crusted cheese cake, it is unbelievable.

We'll that is my two cents between the two. I'm sure there will be others who love Narcoossee's over Citroco's and others who prefer Citroco's over Narcoossee's. Either way you can't go wrong. Enjoy your stay at WDW :thumbsup2

Been to both & love both. It really depends on what you want to eat.
If your looking for seafood then definately Narcoossee's if not then Citricos.
Either way you can't go wrong in my opinion.

Thank you and yes we were at the Poly two years ago in January and before that 3 or 4 years in January. We do not really like crowds that much so it is a perfect time. My husband and son want the lobster (we spoiled our son one year when we went to Maine now he loves seafood) so that is a possible choice for them. I told them we should get it at home it would be cheaper. Thanks for the help right now leaning toward Narcoosees.

While they are both REALLY good, we enjoyed the food more at Citricos, but wiith your boys, I would say Narcoosee. Especially if you like lobster!!

We had dinner at Citricos on 12/26 and Narcoossee's on 12/27, so our experiences are very recent! No question--we like Citricos a lot better. The service at Narcoossee's was subpar while the quality of the food is not worth the cost. Citricos is much more refined, the food is better, and the service is better.

My kids love Citricos too. They were not thrilled with Narcoossee's.

We also had dinners at both places in August, and again, we preferred Citricos then as well.

The food is more sophisticated at Citricos and the environment is a bit more upscale and in January with low crowds, will probably be more adult.

I think your children would enjoy Narcoosees more. It's a prettier restaurant and there is that lobster.

Citricos is definitely more of an adult atmosphere. I agree with the PPs who've said your kids would like Narcoosee's more. Also, if you have any picky eaters in your bunch, I'd definitely go to Narcoosee's. We had a lovely dining experience at Citricos, but I'm not that adventurous of an eater and I don't ever need to return there.

Thanks for everyone's help. We have no picky eaters in our group. In fact, our kids love to eat especially our 12 year old son. Our 8 year old daughter is not as adventurous but still likes the good old fashioned chicken nuggets or is happy with pasta and butter.

Although I agree in that your kids will enjoy Narcoossee's more, I don't think Citricos is more sophisticated or "adult". I think they're different. I think the kids will enjoy seeing the castle from the table and seeing the electric water parade or fireworks from their table if you are dining at the right time.

Although I'm not a seafood eater I found Narcoossee's has more on the menu that I wanted to try. I think Citricos has better appitizers, but they both have great appitizers, the gnocchi is to die for at Citricos and I really like the caesar at Narcoossee's. To me, the entrees have been about the same, everything I've tried has been really good but nothing spectacular. As for dessert, Narcoossee's wins hand down, the almond crusted cheesecake is worth going for alone... yum!

Narcoossee's for us, will always be a must do. It always our last night meal and we like to plan it either around fireworks, the EWP or both. It's nice to get to view the fireworks from a different and very close angle, opposed to the California Grill or 'Ohana (if you can even 1. get in and 2. get one of the 5 tables you can view the fireworks).

If you can, it's worth it to try both. We've dined at all the signature restaurants, most of them multiple times, and they're all delicious and worth going to.
