So my wife and I are traveling to DL in January and we were going to stay at the DLH, but due to a potential job loss we may be forced to change hotels. I am thinking either Camelot Inn and suites (CIS) or the Best Western Plus Park Place Inn (BWPPPI)

So from those who have stayed in them what do see as pros and what do you see as cons?

We will be deeply disappointed to have to change, but cost factors is way higher if my wife is laid off. most of this trip is already paid for so we are going either way.

Our first trip we stayed at Camelot Inn. We liked it enough.

Our last trip we stayed at BWPPI. We really liked the location (right at the crosswalk to get to DL/DCA). Make sure you book a room with 2 beds though, or else someone will end up sleeping on a sofa bed.

Both are good, offer breakfast, but BWPPI is a bit closer, if that is important to you.

We are hoping to go in February and I want to stay at BWPPI again - simply because of the location.

rszdtrvl,

Hey, first thanks for taking the time to reply, I'm new to this forum. so Best western is better from what i could tell but i wasn't sure. I'm glad to here that! I'm still hoping all works out with my wife's job and we can stay at the DLH, but that's looking less likely. :)

So its definitely BWPPPI if no Dis Hotel

You're welcome!

We have stayed at BWPPI, Hojo, and Camelot. My favorite so far was BWPPI, simply due to the location. It was so nice at the end of the night to just cross the street and be "home".

We have stayed at both Camelot and BWPPI, and prefer BWPPI. They have a better location, better breakfast, and more comfortable beds.

The Idea of a real quick walk after long day in DL makes me really like the BWPPPI, and if they have better beds, then if we are changing Hotels we will go there.

Thanks for your help it means a lot, especially during a stressful time.

I feel your pain. I got laid off myself last month. Nearly had to cancel the trip, I hope everything works out well!

Sorry to hear about your wife's potential job loss. That must be really difficult for your family. We have stayed at the BWPPI many times and we have been very happy with it. Hopefully this trip will be a nice relaxing time for your family. Have fun!!

Thanks for the well wishes. it will work out, i have faith in that. i have disliked her job for a while now and i think she will be OK. she was the director of nursing for a Children's Psychiatric Care facility in Oregon for the last 7 years. they are state funded and lost 3/4 of their funding.

i'm sure it will work out in the end and we will put it in gods hands.
