I'm not sure if this is really the right forum for this, but I wanted to know if Cirque is an 'unmissable' show?

At first I didn't even give it a second thought, as it's quite expensive and we needed all the spending money we could get. BUT now Virgin Holidays have very kindly added the Free DDP to our holiday, so we now have the $800 we would have spent on food, as spending money!! I've already added a helicopter flight to our itinerary which will cost around $80 but would like just something else to make it extra extra special....

Now I've read that Cirque has to be paid for upfront. This is where I'm :confused3 I would LOVE to go now I've seen the 'trailer' and I'm sure DBF would love it too. BUT the money for Cirque would have to come out of our spending money. This is where the problem is - we won't have the spending money until we're there! And if we go we'd want the great seats, we probably wouldn't do it again.

So, if it's worth it, I would try to juggle a bit and book CRT dinner in Feb with DDP TSs, even though it's a waste of TSs IMO as I've got restaurants like Le Cellier and Kona down on there... and book Cirque with the money I would have booked CRT with - if that makes sense :lmao:

Sorry for the dreadfully long post! I'm in a dilemma and the jist of it is - how good is Cirque? :rotfl:

I've seen Cirque 3 times, and each time it was fantastic. I think is is an unmissable show. Every seat in the place is good, so don't worry about getting the least expensive ticket.

My opinion, having seen it once, its worth every penny. I was skeptical at first, have seen them on TV many a time, but never seen La Nouba. We had the best seats in the house, and believe me, they are not necessary. Theater is well designed and the rows are not high up. Stage is raised and things happen from below and above as well as behind the whole stage. Cheaper seats would do fine if not better than our front row seats, we sat with our heads craned up to watch. Its a great show, glad I seen it in person, once, and probably not see the same show again, a different one yes.

Thank you for the uber-quick responses!!

I was thinking of winging it too, just popping along to DTD when we get to WDW to see if there are tickets there, and cut our losses if there wasn't. But, we didn't want to miss something 'unmissable' and I don't really know how fast the tickets sell out and if I needed to get a good seat (which I'm glad to hear it's not a necessity!)... We don't have kids so we'd probably be after the 9pm show....

If it's not to be missed, I'd prefer to be armed with tickets!!

I agree...worth every penny. I can't wait for my DS to be old enough to sit through it quietly because I want to see it again!

Thank you for posting that link!! I'll have a read through it now!!

I'm making a 'list' of possibilities for one more thing to be added! Right now it's Cirque vs SW's Shark Dive!!

I haven't seen La Nouba yet but if it's anything like any other Cirque show it will be fantastic. I can't wait to go in December.

And there are no really bad seats in their theaters. We sat in row 4 in Vegas and would rather have been further back so our necks weren't always bent back!

It was wonderful.

It held all three boys' attention, we had a wonderful time, and would do it again.

We had the second teir of seats, and they were great, but as others stated, there would be no bad seat in the house.

Absolutely wonderful show.

We all loved it! Even my DS (7) with ADHD enjoyed. Never took his eyes off the stage. Everyone is correct about the seating, not a bad seat in the house.

I would hate for you to miss it, but I did want to say, we were there July 6 for the 7:30 and there were empty seats. Not a lot, but a few. If you had a couple of nights open you could probably get tickets.

One thing, we preordered and our tickets are little cards, like the resort room keys. I noticed a lot of people with paper tickets and thought they were probably picked up at the window, but I am not sure. My travel agent said the tickets were really cool when she saw them.

Thanks everyone :)

I read the other thread too and it seems the Cat 2 seats really are the best seats (I have my eye on Section 204 Row EE ;)) A few people have told me that they've got lucky on the night and gotten a ticket to see Cirque... I really am tempted to wing it depending on how much spending money we have left BUT the planner on me wants to book it 6 months ahead to get the EE seats :rotfl:

I guess I still have a few months to decide what to do :)

I'm glad to hear everyone seems to have enjoyed the show. I'll be seeing it for my first time on my next trip. I wasn't going to book it, but my mom wanted me and my DBF to go with her and my little sister so bad that she bought the tickets for us.

DW and i saw this show in 2004. When i booked this i was alot like some of you i wanted to do something a little different and never even heard of cirque de solei, but sounded like circus so thought that might be interesting did not have any kids to worry about this trip. After the show DW and i came out of the theatre speechless it took us about 10 minutes to figure out what we had just seen. I got the second to most exp seats but everyone is right do spend for most exp seats anywhere in the theatre is great. Am planning a trip to Vegas i do not gamble so going to spend that money on the cirque show out there which i think is three maybe four. :Pinkbounc :surfweb:
