Cirque Du Soleil

Here is the latest info in the Member Clubhouse Newsletter. It doesn't look like there is a cash discount right now.

Cirque perk
Cirque du Soleil® marks the fifth year of their Downtown Disney® West Side show, La Nouba™, with a special experience reserved for Disney Vacation Club Members. On select dates, Members holding a September ticket to La Nouba can meet face-to-face and talk personally with select performers and backstage crew members from the show. Hosted by the House of Blues® restaurant, these meet-and-greets will take place September 8, 15, and 22, from 2:00 to 3:30 pm. It's also a great opportunity to use your 15% Member discount to purchase lunch at House of Blues (alcoholic beverages, tax, and gratuity are not included).

Tickets for La Nouba may be purchased by calling (407) 939-7719 or by going online. While there is no admission price for the special Member experience, advance reservations are required, and can be made by contacting Member Services. Space will be limited to 300 people and is handled by reservation only.

All attendees must show a valid Member ID card with their La Nouba ticket at event check-in. Members are eligible to attend one complimentary experience.

For an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at this exciting Cirque du Soleil show, see the summer 2004 issue of Vacation Magic.

Happy Birthday Cat

Thanks, I saw that too on the Member Website, but it doesn't say anything about a discount.
Probably not then.

There is an AP discount but only on Category 2 tickets purchased no earlier than 14 days prior to show (which probably wouldn't provide the best view).

We put off going to see La Nouba for years due to the price but when we finally went we kicked ourselves for not going sooner. It is SO awesome that we're now hooked on Cirque and have seen 3 traveling shows and are going back to La Nouba next month.

Thanks for this thread! I am leaving on Fri until Tues am, I just decided on Tues to go! staying @ OKW. Thanks to this thread, I am going to call & see if I can get tickets. Have a great day. Val S. from Ontario, Canada.

Vals, although this won't affect you, thought I'd throw this out for anyone else who may be thinking about Cirque through the end of the year. This is taken directly from Cirque's Web site:

La Nouba will not perform on the following dates in 2004:

October 17 to 20
November 14 to 16
December 5 to 14

Poohj80, Cirque is rather addictive, just like WDW, isn't it?!?!! We will be seeing LaNouba in October for our 4th time and saw one of their traveling shows in St. Louis. Beyond description!!

You aren't kidding! We've gone to Atlanta the last two years to see Varekai and Alegria. It's definitely a different experience than La Nouba going into the big tent. I look forward to getting to Vegas one of these days to see O! and Mystere.

"O" in Vegas is the most amazing and beautiful theatrical experience I have ever had. It BLOWS all of the other Cirque shows (pardon the pun) out of the water!!! If any one is heading to Vegas you must call ahead and get tickets (call THE DAY they go on sale because sell out in about a day). It is worth a trip to Vegas just to see it. Out of the shows we have seen I would rate O very far ahead of the other Cirque shows on the list, followed by Quidam, Alegria, Varekei and then La Nouba. We have tickets to see La Nouba again in October and it will be interesting to see if it moves up on my list.

Its funny you liked O in vegas the best ..I found it to be my least favorite...prefer La nouba then mystere of the ones I've seen. I guess to each his own.

All the shows are phenomenal. WE have seen the origianl show "Mystere" at Treasure Island in Las Vegas and la Nouba at
Pleasure Island several times. I am certain "O' just adds another dimension. Like all entertainment venues it is very expensive. You can't even take your kids to the ball game without spending
a couple hundred bucks these days when you include parking, food and incidentals - but the Cirque Du Solei definitely gives you a fabulous entertainment option while at DVC.
