Woo hoo! Just booked tickets to take my MIL to see Cirque du Soleil.:cool1: I rang the NIA as she is registered disabled, so I will be taking her in her wheelchair and we managed to get two tickets in the disabled access seats for Sunday 22nd April.

My MIL is a wonderful lady and has looked after my DD's throughout their lives - you could not wish for a better MIL or Nan. She has always loved shows (took her to see Annie at Christmas) but Cirque is something she has always wanted to see. I can't wait to tell her!

Excellent, I'm sure she will love it and you will have a great time. Which show are you seeing? We love Cirque shows too, we have seen 6 so far and going to see more next year!

I think it's called Alegria? I've never seen a show before but MIL has been watching them on the TV and hasn't stopped raving about them.

My idiot BIL shot over to my house the minute he found out (he NEVER visits us) to tell me that he had had the same idea yesterday. He told me that he had asked her if she would like to see it and she said she would rather watch it on the TV. He told me this (very smugly saying he was glad he hadn't wasted his money) not once but twice! I think he only came over to tell me. It really took the shine off what I thought would be a lovely surprise.:(

Aw Juliette, thats horrible. But what a lovely surprise! Im sure your MIL will appreciate the surpise!

Its funny... DBF was watching Alegria on Sky yesterday, and we discussed going to La Nouba in WDW. But it is super expensive!

Xxx

Yes, my MIL was watching it on Sky too. She hasn't stopped talking about it. Our tickets cost £112, which is pretty expensive for me! How much is La Nouba?

sounds like your BIL has a big dose of the green eyed monster (or maybe sour grapes because he didn't just arrange the surprise). I'm sure she will be thrilled when you tell her and I hope you have a great time. My guess is that she only said she's happy watching it on TV because she's too nice to expect anyone to spend that amount of money on her!

I've only seen La Nouba at WDW and loved it.

Lol, that's what his sister said too. BIL can be unpleasant, he even refused to attend his own sister's wedding at the weekend.:confused3 I hope she enjoys it - can't see why she wouldn't. I just checked out La Nouba - expensive but fantastic front/centre seats would be worth it!

Love Alegria...think the music is wonderful in that one. TBH we were not too keen on La Nouba,:confused3 it just didn't do it for us but I know others have really loved it. We went to see the Beatles LOVE in Vegas in October and that truly was wonderful. We didn't think we were going to enjoy it as much but because there is a Beatles connection in the family we got the tickets for free. We were not going to bother otherwise! But even if we'd paid top price I would have still had fantastic reviews of it.:)

I think thats a wonderful present for your MIL and its obviously something that she is really going to enjoy..money well spent I think.:thumbsup2

Thanks.:goodvibes
I thought the Michael Jackson one looked interesting too. I would have liked to have taken her to the Beatles one as she is a scouser! I hope we're not miles away from the stage. We are in Block 4 (lower) seats 132-133. I don't really like the NIA as a venue, but I wanted somewhere close by.
