Cirque du Soleil--Which Showing Less Crowded?

We're thinking about going to Cirque du Soleil. It would be just 2 adults. Which showing tends to be less crowded? I would think that more families would go to the earlier show, but don't know if that would make it more crowded. Thinking that a lot of people might go later, after the parks have closed.

We could either go to the earlier show and then go out to dinner or go to dinner first. We'd like to go to Downtown Disney for a little while, but could do that before the earlier show or after the later one.

I can't answer exactly because I've not been to both showings, just the first one. We did not feel that the arena was "crowded", although it was full. There are really no bad seats and the getting in and out is very organized. I would worry more about what time the restaurants will be packed and plan your Cirque show around that.

I was wondering about this same question. Most info. I found made it sound like both shows were usually sold out which should make it about the same. I thought that maybe the early show would have more families, but that is just my thinking. Anyway, we have tickets for the early show on Dec. 3rd and we are very excited.

I'm glad that getting out after the show isn't too bad. Hopefully anyone with restless kids would bring them out during the show. I have nothing against kids--have 4 of my own that will be with their grandparents. If it were me, with kids, I would go to the earlier show since 9 would be too late for my 4yo to stay awake. Of course if he went to sleep he'd be quiet.

Anyway, I'm getting off-track (just woke up and haven't had my coffee yet...).

Goop point that we should think about when would be the best dinner time and work the show around that. Hopefully I wouldn't fall asleep during the later show.

I don't think crowd level is an issue. Having the theatre full adds to the enjoyment, it doesn't detract at all. I think most shows are full or close to full.

Getting out is not a problem -- the exits are well-designed. The only problem is if you try to eat dinner at the West Side after the show, you'll have a lot of competition!

I guess I was thinking about which showing was less busy because I would be able to get better tickets, at least in theory. I don't mind the show being a sell-out, as long as they can all wait to buy tickets until after I have mine.

Dh and I went to the later showing back in January. We picked up our tickets the night before, and the guy ahead of us in line was buying a large group of tickets (about 8 or so) for our same showing. I'm not sure if they were available because it was January or because it was a late showing. We liked the late showing because we were able to get dinner at normal time beforehand and then head off to show and not have to worry about fighting the crowds of people trying to eat dinner afterwards. Either way it'll be great though - the show is awesome!! I'll be going again in May with my sister, and will be seeing another Cirque show (Varekai) when it visits DC this fall. Woohoo!!!

Maybe the later show would be better for us. We'd be able to have dinner first--don't want my growling stomach to be heard during the show!

I should look into the Cirque Varekai. It might be something that my older kids would enjoy. Where in MD do you live? We're in Montgomery Co.

I'm in Anne Arundel County, so probably not far from you. You can check out cirquedusoleil.com for showtimes and dates. My hubby and I are going on October 24th. Should be tons of fun!!
