My 11yo DS really wants to see Cirque du Soleil when we go in July but I looked at the cost and it would be almost $500.00 for the four of us. Now I noticed that there was a DVC discount (we are members) which expired at the end of March, but I just saw there was a new discount offered for DVC members which expires on June 27th. So my questions to you DISers is can I expect that there would be another discount after the current one expires? And also, does the category of the seats make much of a difference? The Category 3 seats are much cheaper and would make it affordable for us, but I don't want to go to a show I need to watch through binoculars!!

The theater is small. Category 2 and 3 seats are almost preferable to Cat 1, since so much of the show happens in the air.

Go for the Catergory 3 seats!
I found them preferable due to the nature of the show so you can take in the overall scenes and activity.
Enjoy the show!

They almost always seem to have the DVC discounts as well. Even though they are "limited time" I have never found a time that I wanted to go that they didn't have it running. Also, you can join the "cirque club" and they will sometimes have special discounts as well.

Can this be reserved at 180 days like dining? Or is it different? If different, when can you reserve?

Cat 3 tickets are great, just ask to be as close to the center as you can get.

You can join their e-mail list, the Cirque Club, and check back to their website directly for those discounts as well, but there don't appear to be any of those right now either.

MouseSavers also keeps a list of the current discounts available.

Thanks for the awesome information all!!

So the AP discount is identical to the DVC discount. But the current discounts for both end on June 27th so I figure the new discount after that will start almost right away, But if that ends up being the case I would be coming down the week of July 4th and wouldn't have much time to get the tickets at the discount. What are the chances of getting tickets so close to the date?

Thanks for all the responses!!

I usually sit in Cat 2 (Sec 204 about 5 or 6 rows down from the top) and love those seats. Last trip, I sat front and center (very front row). While it was awesome to see the show from that close, I think the Cat 2 tickets were better. Due to the small theater, it's not a far view.

I hope you get your discount and see the show! It's very worth it.

I'm not sure how far out you can reserve non-discounted tickets, but we use the Florida Resident discount and those can only be purchased 30 days in advance.
