Hi. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who has watched the Cirque du Soleil: La Nouba show from Category 2 seats. I have already bought my tickets for the show, but I'm hoping somebody will tell me that I didn't make a terrible mistake by not coughing up the extra $36 dollars to get Category 1 tickets. The lady on the phone told me that the Category 2 seats were really pretty good seats, but I'm only now seeing the website with the seating chart, and it looks like I might end up too far to the side of the stage. Of course, I've never seen a Cirque du Soleil before, and I understand that they're really like no other stage show around, so maybe it won't matter that I'm at side-stage.

So, basically, I'm asking if anyone here has seen this show from Category 2 seating, and if they were good seats. If not, I might look into seeing if I can upgrade, since I won't be seeing the show until October.

Really, not a bad seat in the house and the closer to the stage which is cat 1 is not all that good. It's a raised stage and if you're in front, you looking up. Middle of the house or back is ideal, its not really tiered, real high and there are things going on all over, up down, in the back and on stage, I think you did good. No worries and enjoy.

Personally I don't think there's a bad seat at all. I was in a group that took up section 206 and I sat on the last row and I was mesmerized! Wonderful show!

Well, that's great to hear! If there's really not a bad seat in the house, maybe I should have saved myself $36 and gotten the cheap seats! No, I'm sure it'll be nice to not be in the very back, even the back row has a good view.

I actually just figured out that I can look at sample views from each section on the website. It looks like every section actually does have a really good view. It actually looks like it's a pretty intimate venue, from the pictures offered online. Well, now I'm getting really excited.

Thanks for the help, everybody!

I've seen the show several times, and I think I've been in almost every category of seats! Like everyone has said, there isn't a bad seat in the house. You just get a different view and perspective. The further up and back you are...you get a better view of the aerial stunts. I actually preferred that view over the up front-center area! You'll love it!!

I don't know which category seats are where, but if you're in the lower section (the one closest to and around) the stage, you're too close.

It is a REALLY small theater. It doesn't matter a whole lot how far back you are...you won't be far away.

I'm not a fan of Cirque, but if I had to go again (like, to save my child's life or something), I'd prefer to sit in the middle, front row of the second section.

We had Category 2 seats in section 206 and we had a perfect view of everything! Wonderful seats! :thumbsup2

We also had Category 2 seats and they were great! I would never get Cat 1 seats - not worth the extra money, for us, and you have to look up and back to see some of the action.

I too, have cat 2 seats for tomorrow's show! Can anybody tell me what the typical dress is for the show? I'm trying to figure out what to dress the family in. TIA!

Thanks for posting this. We are looking at doing Cirque/La Nouba for my brother's b-day gift on our next trip. Glad I read this, bc I was thinking about buying Category 1.

I have a question about the seats - are they cloth stadium seats or are they more like bleachers? Are they so close row wide that if I have a kid sitting behind me they will forever be kicking me in my back. 90 minutes of that might get me in a fight. :rotfl:

Cat. 2 seats will be great. We had Cat. 3 seats and we were only 3 rows from the back and thought our seats were great.

The theater is big, but not huge so you should be fine and a lot of the action is in the air above you anyway so you'll still see everything up close.

I've only gone twice, but I cracked up both times at the way people were dressed so differently.

You have some folks who are decked out - I saw a woman in an evening gown with jewelry sparkling everyhwere, perfect make-up, like she just left the Estee Lauder counter after a makeover and every hair sprayed into place. The guy with her had his very, very nice dark suit on and his hair was slicked back.

Right in front of Mr. and Mrs. Mannequin Perfection was a family who came from the parks in their wrinkled Tshirts and shorts, hair all windblown, so tired-looking, like they really would have preferred going to their hotel, but they had the tickets so there they were.

It just varies. I seriously don't think you can go wrong dress-wise.

I agree with this! You will see all kinds of dress there! A lot of people have been at the parks all day, some have spent a good bit of time shopping before the show, some are dressed to the nines. I was with a high school band and show choir group and one of the directors asked the kids to bring something "nice". Most of the girls wore sundresses, capris or nice shorts, with the boys wearing mostly khaki shorts and polo-type shirts.

There's not a lot of leg-room from the seat to the chair back in front of you, but I heard no complaints from our group--they all came out amazed at the show!

I just got my tickets for my honeymoon and actually requested Cat. 2 tickets.

Sections 206 and 202 are horseshoed shaped and if you get tickets at the bottom of the shoe, you are actually level with a upper Cat. 1 ticket.

I've got tickets for 206, Row AA ... it is a bit off to the side, but still a great seat.

I hadn't even thought about what to wear! I'm glad that came up. I guess that we'll probably just be wearing our casual park attire.

Makes me think of another question, though. Is it chilly in the theater? I'll probably be dressed casually, but I don't want to wear shorts if I'm going to be cold.

We are planning to go to the show in October as well, and I was thinking of getting category 2 tickets. Is it correct that you can't purchase sooner than 90 days in advance? I was thinking I can't call yet, but I want to make sure I am not missing out on something I am not aware of?
Thanks!

I don't know anything about that. I purchased my tickets about a month ago, and they have already arrived by mail. I don't know if it is relevant that I have a trip already booked on property. I don't think that they asked for any of that information.

Category 2 or level 2 seating at La Nouba, and really all Cirque shows, is generally preferred by most who go. Much of the show takes place up high in the venue, as well as on the walkway between both levels. Lower level, higher priced seated people have to look up and behind throughout the show, makes for sore necks.

The seats are theater type, with backs, quite comfortable. I am 6' 6", always find Cirque shows, including La Nouba, have plenty of room.
