Cinnamon Bay status?

We are sailing on The Fantasy in December and would like to go to Cinnamon Bay on our own to snorkel. Has anyone been there lately? Is it even open?

We stopped there on August 15th. We did the St. John on your own excursion and toured the island with a friend who was staying on the island. We went to the beach, but did not snorkel. I assume you could snorkel if you wanted? There was a lot of damage, the visitor center was destroyed. The beach was gorgeous, though!
