What is dinner like at Cindy's since the changes on Feb. 1, 2006?

What changes? Please don't tell me it is now a character meal! DH and I always eat there once while we are at WDW. It is the first place we had dinner there years ago when DH was my DBF. It has a special magic for us. I hope they haven't changed it too much!

Yes its a Character Meal. It looks good, I really want to take my daughter to this and I hope it is as good as I think it will be.

The changes are that it is $$$! Cinderella is in the lobby for your "complimentary" photo package- the princesses rotate during your meal, which is pre-paid from a lmited menu. The kids get a sword / wand and a light up star pin. The food was ok- but they really cheaped out on the appetizer (shared for the table) and the dessert (a blueberry muffin with yellow ice cream). We really wanted to do it- and now that we have, we won't again.... have fun!

I was on Allearsnet and noticed that Cindy's is now a signature dining using 2 credits for breakfast, lunch, & dinner :furious: Is this true? It only used 1 credit last year.

Yep! It's true. 2 credits and more eating there for us. I loved the atmosphere, could care less about the princesses but no more! I don't want to pay for items I don't want, pictures being one!

No, dinner is not a character meal. Suzy and Perla and the Fairy Godmother make a brief appearance for a wishing presentation every hour, and they do come by and quicky say hi to you during this time, but they don't stop for pics and autographs, although they will sometimes pause long enough for a quick shot if your camera is ready.

The other changes for dinner are each family gets a photo with Cinderella and a lithograph of the castle. The meals are now all-inclusive- you automatically get an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. You choose one of each from the menu.

Say it isn't so! We went the first week of January this year and used only one credit... It looks like they now requires you to pay up front when you make the reservation now, too! :furious:

So, let's say I AM willing to blow two dining credits on it... How do I make my ressie if I plan to use dining credits? Do I still have to pay up front?????

Of all the things we did last January, my 2 year old daughter talks about this lunch the most. She's be heartbroken if we didn't go... Looks like I might be chalking up the almost 100 bucks?

We were there for dinner about three weeks ago. I have to say that I am very disappointed in the change. We loved the restaurant the way it was. That being said, we still had a wonderful time . We were NOT on the dining plan, but we have a DDE card and used it. The menu is smaller than I remember and you get to pick one salad, et., an entree and a dessert. Drinks are included, not the Bibbidi Bobbodi thing, but "regular" drinks. Yes they take your picture in the lobby with Cindy. I had a wonderful time talking with the CM as Cindy was on a break. We were the first people after her break and then we were called right away (in fact we were called before our picture) to go upstairs. I have to say that my family felt somewhat rushed. We are the kind of family who likes to take our time over dinner. We love to talk and really enjoy our dining experiences. Suzy, Perla and the Fairy Godmother came over to our table tons of times and you could take pictures and get autographs from them. They bring your pictures over to you while you are eating along with the litho, which is in a HUGE case. My kids just looked at me and laughed as it is a family joke that Mim's bag gets heavier and heavier during our vacation! Actually it wasn't heavy. We were let out of the castle just in time to see the parade and then we stayed for the EMH until 3 am, had a blast by the way. Overall, I don't know if I would use 2 points on the dining plan. It would be a tough choice for my family because we love the place, but it just doesn't "feel" like it used to, if that makes sense to you all. Sorry for rambling, hope this helps a little.

Have Fun!!

That is only for lunch and b-fast. Dinner there are no princesses. Cinderella is downstairs for pictures - upstairs you only get the Fairy Godmother and Suzy and Perla - but they do not circulate. They just flit around the room and then there's a "speech" about celebrations from the FG. There are also no wands or swords for dinner- the kids get a litho. Also no shared appetizer. You get a choice of 2-3 appetizers, 5-7 entrees and I believe 3 desserts. Kids get I believe a cheese/veggie plate and a choice of a few entrees and maybe 2 desserts.

Overall a HUGE disappointment... We've always eaten either lunch of dinner in the castle - this was our last time unless they go back to their regular meals.

Thanks, looks like we won't be attending this year. We really enjoyed it last year but I can't see paying the 2 credits.

princess: Does anyone have a photo of the litho? We went Dec 05 for brbeakfast and they didn't even offer us the photo package even though they took a picture. :confused3 Also can you still get the slipper dessert?

Thanks
