I am taking my two sons ages 15 and 12 along with my 15 year-old's best friend to Disney for ten nights in June. I would absolutely love to have breakfast at Cindy's but I am afraid my boys will "just die of embarassment". We have been to Disney every year since my boys have been born but this is friend Alex's very first trip. Do you think I can "safely" book this for us or will I be stoned to death by three angry men? I would love your opinions on Cindy's with boys! Thanks so much.

Hi!

We have 3 boys as well but our ages are 9,7,4. I also have planned on having breakfast with Cindy princess: but that was after I thought about it for a while...and my kids are much younger. I'm not sure how 3 teen boys will feel about eating with the princess :confused3 . But I think you should do something for you as well and that is why I went ahead and agreed to reserve PS for Cindy! :cheer2:

I say do it!

Have a great time!

2005 - POR June/July
2003 - AS June/July

Hmmm....I have 13 and 15 y/o sons, and I am very proud of them for indulging me and agreeing to go to character meals with me at places like Donald's, Garden Grill, and LTT. They even seem to have a good time at these meals. :)

However, I would never get them to agree to CRT. They will go there for lunch or dinner, of course, but not for the princess breakfast. Although my older DS did say that he would go there before he'd go to "that place with Pooh."

I'd like to have breakfast at CRT someday, but I'll either go just with DH or maybe with friends.

We did Cindy's breakfast with our 3 boys last month. Ours are very young though-5, 3 and 1. I wanted to do that breakfast once, and I figured I'd better do it while they are young and don't have a say. ;) My 5 and 3 yr olds did NOT want to take pictures with the princesses, no surprise there. They did enjoy the food and atmosphere though. I'm glad we did it, the only way we'd do it again is if THEY ask to...unlikely. :) Anyway, I think it depends on their personalities... If these teenage boys are outgoing and like to flirt and stuff, then maybe they'd like it! ;) But if you think they'll feel shy, awkward and embarrassed, I'd skip it. Each princess comes to your table and chats, then you can take a picture. Do you think they'd enjoy that?

Good luck!

I told DS (10) today that we are eating at CRT w/princesses, and that we might be eating with some more princesses (trying for PSB tomorrow). He said, "S'more princesses?" I said, "Yes, they are princesses that make S'mores." LOL He's reached that "I'll eat anything stage."

Anyway, he's a real trouper. DD (5) and niece (3) will love the princesses, and he knows it. I hope he's learning to be a "man" who will do nice things for the woman in his life.

BTW, we're also doing two Star Wars Weekends for him. So, its a give and take.

When we went in 2001 our DSs were 13 and 10 (now they'll be 17 and 14 when we go in July) and they really didn't care that there were princesses there, they simply saw it as another meal! :teeth: The boys were nice enough to pose with some of the characters while I snapped their pics. I am considering trying for breakfast in the castle again for this trip but I wouldn't even ask DSs to pose with the princesses. Although....at THESE ages, they might just love the thought of posing with them :earboy2: Just tell your DSs and DSs' friend that it's a character meal that YOU want to do and just look at it as another restaurant. Also, reassure them that the restaurant itself is not "girly" or feminine in the least! My DSs liked the actual restaurant. We also had dinner there one night and that was great, too.

P.S. Here's a link to my website with the pics from breakfast at the castle:
http://home.comcast.net/~terry527/html/restsDAY2.htm Just scroll down the page a bit to get to those pics.

When our DS was ten he wanted nothing to do with the princesses. When we went again when he was twelve. he jumped up to have his picture taken with the princesses. I guess hormones were starting up. Our DD, 3 years younger than our DS loves the place.

Cindy's has very nice stained glass windows and pewter goblets. Makes you feel like you are in the Renaissance times. Knights and shining armor.

If you can not get a princess breakfast, try lunch or dinner with the boys.
Maybe you can get a dinner PS when the fireworks are going off. Ask for a window seat when you make your PS - say it's some's birthday and you are celebrating it there. The boys will like the dinner and the ring side view of the fireworks. I do not know if they pipe in the music.

My boys are 14 and 12. The last time they went was in 2000 and they said then "please never again". I wouldn't inflict Princesses on teen boys.

I know my husband is looking forward to seeing the princess :smooth:

They may get a kick out of it if they are "interested" in girls? Or you might just play it up by saying you are eating in the castle!

I have been out of town since I posted this and I couldn't wait to get back and read everyone's thoughts and comments. I am going to take your advice and not force them to do the breakfast. We are going to do Crystal Palace and Breakfastosaurus but we were doing those regardless of whether we did Cindy's or not. Oh well, maybe someday when I have grandchildren!!! Thanks everyone for posting.

we took our son w/us to cindy's breakfast when he was 21; he's 23 now. he had a great time. posed w/the princesses and everything. and i have the most precious photo of him and cindy. it is priceless! the princesses are very good in picking up on whether or not the boys want to be "involved." :earboy2:

My boyfriend is 22 and definitely looking forward to the breakfast. He "claims" it's because it'll be our first time eating in the castle, but I know it's because he'll probably get to see Belle - she's his favorite princess. (In his words, "She's the "hottest" of the Disney princesses.") It's funny though. ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

You know, if the boys don't know there are princesses at the breakfast, it might be kind of fun just to tell them you are eating in the castle and see their reactions when the princesses arrive!

Just got my DNeph (7) to agree to CRT with me in June. I showed him the photo tour on Tour Guide Mike's site - really plays up the 'eating in a castle' aspect, then showed him the pics of the princesses (which are, fortunately, taken with boys his age in them smiling and getting autographs) - he agreed (his big bros won't be along to tease- just the two of us!), but added, "well, I guess if you can't get a reservation (I told him they were hard to get), I won't be too disappointed!"

We're also doing 3 days of Star Wars before getting to MK for the day, so he was willing to do this for me - a great little man in the making !! :smooth:

Agree...DS will be 10 this trip and he REALLY doesn't want to eat with the princesses. When he has, he left with a lipstick mark on his cheek and forehead. DH was jealous! princess: pirate: :earboy2:

It would probably be a good idea to ask them what they think. When we were 15 & 13, and at the right moment my brother and I may have decided to indulge my mom, otherwise it would have been a long day. I know that I am way older than that now, and only going to indulge my wife and daughter.
