According to the CM who was our guide on the KTTKT last week, it will be used in granting wishes for the Give Kids the World and Make a Wish Foundation.

I could see the room being offered as a "Make a Wish" room or a Complimemtary room for special Disney corporate VIP guests.
I highly doubt it will ever open to the general public except as an occasional contest prize or a promotion like the million dreams promotion.
Most of you are forgetting that the room comes with a private CM "Butler".
The "Bultler's" real job is to make sure the "guests" staying in the "Castle Suite" do not leave the "Suite " when the park is closed.
If the Park closes at 9 PM the guests cannot hop to another park for late park activities. They cannot leave for a late bite to eat etc.
Sure it would be fun for a night but much longer than that I might get to feeling like I was a prisioner in my castle ......kinda like Rapunzel.

BTW:
My point is I do not think WDW could rent the "Castle Suite" out to the public and legally make them stay in the room.
Also because of liability reasons they cannot let those guests wander in the park after closing because that is when a lot of the park maintainence is taken care of.
Just my 2 cents.
), I don't know for sure, but I thought that they did make some sort of accomodation so that people would feel like total prisoners, and be able to go to other locations at least until a reasonable time. Something like they would be escorted to a limo to take them to/from the front gate or something like that.According to the CM who was our guide on the KTTKT last week, it will be used in granting wishes for the Give Kids the World and Make a Wish Foundation.
Those are all great ideas, a DVC guide told me that she thought they would continue picking a random family, and would never offer it as something you could book, she said the stay is priceless.

Per Disney Reservations Center management - the castle stay would be impossible to add to the Reservations system and priceless as well. It will continue to be used as a special give away from time to time and for such events as Make a wish and give kids the world. Right move for Disney I think![]()
