I was wondering since we are DVC and I buy the AP pass and TIW discount card.....how do I get 20% off the Castle breakfast? I made my ADR's yesterday and paid up front. I won't be buyinf the passes and card until we go in July. Oh and 1 more question do they do anything special for DD sweet 16? I did tell them. Thanks all!:goodvibes

I don't think your credit card was charged when you made the ADR for CRT. the credit card is used as a guarantee that you will keep the reservation. It will be charged only if you don't show up. You will actually pay for the meal when you go and they will then apply the 20% TiW discount at that time. That is how it has always worked for us including for our next trip. Our card has not been charged for either CRT or Hoop-Dee-Doo.

Your DD will get a "Happy Birthday" pin and most CMs (and many guests) will wish her a Happy Birthday. In some cases, some special notice might be made at a meal - but not always.

When I made my ADR online last year, it charged my credit card right then. I checked my credit card stmt a few days after I made my ADRs and the charge for 4 people to eat at CRT was on my card. I was going to do the same thing as you get our APs and TIW card when we got there so I called up and was told to show them my TIW card the day we eat and they would put a credit for the 20% on my credit card. They fixed it that day, no problem.

Thanks guys! Thats awesome! Now I don't have to get on the phone.;) Love these boards Thanks again!!!

I had been wondering the same thing, and assumed they would give 20% back after showing them the card. Our cc was also charged when I made the ADR. I'm glad to hear that's how it happens, although I would much prefer that they not charge the cc right away.

I have made reservations for the past several years for CRT and my card was charged at the time I made the reservations. So I don't know how you would get your discount.

Went to CRT for my DD sweet 16 last March. The servers sang Happy Birthday to her and brought her a special desert with a candle in it. The candle and the left over sausage has become one of our Birthday memories. We invented what our family now calls "The Birthday Sausage"

In the past when we have used at discount for this dining experience we have told them that we had the card when we called to make the reservation. They do charge right then and there to your credit card. I had to make adjustments to the amount of people coming and would receive a credit on my credit card. It has been awhile, so I am not sure if we gave them a discount card number over the phone or had to show it at dinner to verify everything....

Every time I've booked CRT I've always told them about our DDE card, they asked for the number (or the expiration date) so they could see it was going to be valid when our reservations where for.

But they charge you at 20% less. I'm pretty sure you can also just show them the card the day of, and you'll get a credit. But I would call them back and have them add the card to my reservation.

My current TIW card is expired, but I'll have a new one before we dine at CRT. I'm sure they'll issue a credit...if not...I'll talk to a manager. This can't possibly be the first time this has happened at CRT.

Your credit card is charged the full amount when you make the reservation. You need to show your server your tie card and you will receive a credit for the 20 percent. This was our experience in December 2008 and 2009. A

Yes, this is how they handled it for us - with a credit at the time of the meal.

Based on what is being reported, my experience must have been an exception: we paid the full amount when the reservation was made, then the "discounted amount" was applied to a Disney gift card when we "paid" the bill. I thought it was a little odd at the time...this was last March.

I thought I remembered the Dining Reservation Castmember telling me it would be credited to the card, but since we did not have a hard time finding somewhere to spend the gift card, I really did not give it much thought until now...oh well :goodvibes

Same for us in 2008. My cc was charged full amount when I made the reservation and then when we actually ate there and showed them the TIW card, the 20% was credited back to my cc.

BTW, I did the same thing you're planning. Didn't buy my AP or get the TIW card until I arrived.

Our cc has been charged immediately for our last few ressies at Cindy's. At one time, CRT offered the refund in the form of a gift card. The last two trips our cc was credited.

We also got a gift card for some meal, I dont remember what one, think it was CRT. It wasnt a huge deal at all since we were easily able to spend it :). I think the server said he could refund the card, but he had done something and it would just take a bit to fix it. So I dont know if that was a story to try to force you into the gift card or not, but it didnt affect me at all.
