Okay, so my family and I decided we wanted to eat at CRT for our second night at Disney World. I read a review here on the DIS that the food wasn't that good, and even though it was a character dinner there were barely any people.. I have always wanted to eat in the castle, and this will be my first time. I just don't want to be disappointed.

Could someone please help out with this? Much appreciated.

We've been lucky enough to eat there multiple times for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Compared to most of the other restaurants for dinner the food isn't better or worse! But the atmosphere is wonderful!!! We love eating there, especially for a late breakfast, and do it at least once a trip!! If you can get a table by the window I would highly recommend it!! It's also a wonderful place to celebrate a birthday or anything else!

But another place we've really enjoyed for dinner which is very similar is the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall! It's a princess dining experience and there's a starter buffet (meats and cheese, salads and bread) and then you pick your main course! For dinner, we do prefer it over Cinderella's Royal Table!!! It also has a castle like atmosphere and is found in Epcot (Norway pavillion)!

Good luck with your decision!!

We are doing this for the first time in a few weeks. I am going with low expectations after reading the reviews, but my kids really wanted to eat in the castle.;)

My family and I had dinner at CRT last February and really enjoyed it! It was quite busy, we had a fantastic time with Cindy for the pictures in the entryway, and enjoyed the food.
I had the spring rolls for appy and the pasta dish which was delicious. My mom and DH had the spring roll and salad respectively and the prime rib. They both liked the prime rib, not great prime rib, but ok. My Mom liked the sauce with it and DH wasn't thrilled with it. I really enjoyed the bread and butter, it was different yet tasty. My DD4 had the childs fish meal and was tired by that time and didn't eat much of it. But DD 9 months at the time really enjoyed her complimentary bowl of pasta and ate some of her sister's yogurt parfait too.
The show with the fairy godmother was cute as was the visiting mice (quickly as they danced around the room), although one surprised my baby who got wide eyed and startled but didn't freak out.
I really enjoyed the experience though so I think it's worth doing!

Thank you so much! I feel a bit better about going now. I'm not big on prime rib, but the pasta dish sounds good. The critic I heard was just old and cranky, so maybe I might just be imagining. (:

Yes, we are eating at Akershus, as well. For dinner, actually. Are the princesses still there for dinner? I hope so. I really have my heart set on meeting Princess Aurora. Anywho, thanks a lot. You all were helpful. I'll try about the window seat, and we're not celebrating a birthday. My mom just had hers, my nana's was in July, and mine isn't until February. ):

We like CRT. Eating in the castle and meeting Cindy is worth the ticket. We've eaten there before and will again this next December. I'm totally into food and while they don't have the greatest food on property I wasn't really disappointed. It's not fabulous but it's pretty good. And the Fairy Godmother put on a great show last time we were there. My DD, 6 loves teh crown sundae dessert with the chocolate crown on top. :)

If you happen to miss Princess Aurora you can look for her in Toontown Hall of Fame.

We jsut went for lunch a week ago and it was suprisingly delish. We all had the Major Domo.

Aurora was there and she was lovely!

We have enjoyed 3 meals at CRT ... breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I'll admit though, I went into that first breakfast expecting cold, runny eggs and poor service b/c of all the negativity I've read on the Disboards pertaining to CRT. I was pleasantly surprised by the hot food, the good service and the atmosphere. We actually just made our CRT reservation for April 2009 this morning. :)

I think people are just put off by the prices. CRT does not offer a great value for the $ you spend. If prices dropped to 1/2 of what they are, I'm sure the ratings would rocket upwards. But, IMO, every restaurant I've ever eaten in at WDW is overpriced ... some just more so than others.

I have eaten at the castle pleanty of times for bk & din All had a great time and good food.:thumbsup2

If you can get an ADR for breakfast definetly go for it. DH and I ate breakfast in the castle a month ago and it was one of our favorite meals of the trip. Delicious!

We LOVE eating at CRT.... we have been for Breakfast and Lunch and both times the food was good and hot. the service was wonderful ( the CM's were very attentive and the Princesses took their time and really visited with both my DD and my DS).We already have reservations for April 2009 and we are alllooking forward to it.... ENJOY the beautiful castle and have fun!!!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I have a question.

I had to pre-pay for our reservations on my credit card. That doesn't bother me at all since we won't be on the DDP. My question is: Is the tip included in the price I paid or not. :confused3 Sorry, I know that is probably a stupid question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

Just be aware that dinner is really not a character meal. It's just Cinderella in the lobby. And the Fairy Godmother, Suzy, and Perla do a little show upstairs.

Great I think all my questions have been answered! I feel a lot better about the meal now. haha

And in repsonse to your "tip question", I believe you pay tip after your dinner. I didn't think it was included when you paid for CRT on the phone.
