My Dining Reservations open in a couple of weeks and Cinderella's Royal Table is a reservation that I definitely want to get. I for sure have 4 people going to dine with me but I am not sure of the 5th. Should I make and pay for 5 people to make sure that I get my wanted time slot and then call and cancel 1 person if they decide not to go or should I book for 4 and if the 5th person is coming call and add them. But if I add them would I have to give up my reserved time and hopefully they have another time slot available.

It is also a PIA to cancel one person on a PREPAID meal and cannot be done until you are at the restaurant. You can get a credit at that time. A common practice is to make the 5th person an infant so you are not charged at the time when you make the reservation. When you get to the restaurant you still have your correct table seating and you just let them know the age of your 5th guest changed and you pay for the 5th person then or if you only have four they will update your table then.

Going from 4 to 5 moves you to a different table size, so yes book for 5. It will be much harder to add someone day of.

Think of it as you will be assigned a table for 4. If you arrive with 5 then your table will not be able to seat a 5th and likely all the tables that can are already occupied by parties of 5 and 6. This is one restaurant where flexibility is very difficult.

You must pay for everyone you think is coming. Do not add later could lose your table these are so hard to get. Just ask when you book if you can cancel without a charge. Enjoy it is special and costly.
