Hi all. Going Sept-Oct 08 and have the Deluxe dining plan. My son will be a month away from his 6th birthday. Is Cinderella's Royal table appropriate or is this a little girl fantsy thing?

I think it depends on the boy.

For my DS (4) he would enjoy it, but not be really into it. He will meet a princess if she is there, but he would much rather hang with Mickey or the Power Rangers then Cinderella.

We would rather go somewhere he would really enjoy, then Cindy's.

But that is just my boy (who wont go see Enchanted with his Momy because there is a Princess in it).

When my family went a few years back all of the younger kids were boys. My cousins, nephew, and little brother all thought it was really cool to be in the castle but they weren't that excited about Cinderella.

We had a bad experience there though and will probably not go back.

My son has been 3 times and has never complained. It is not his frist choice of character meals but he happily tolerates it b/c he knows how much his sisters love it. he was even willing to be in the picture with Cindy that they take before your meal. when he was young (5 & 6 yo) he loved the fact that he was in the castle. now that he is 12yo he "puts on a happy face" and enjoys the food.

Not my son's first choice but he understands thast he gets to pick some and dd gets to pick as well. He has fun but more of a tolerated fun than a gee that was great and I can't wait to go back- although eating in the castle is sort of cool. If this is your only child- i might suggest doing another meal unless you really have your heart set on doing it.

My older boys love it. They always thought it was fun but last time they received plastic swords and that elevated it to super-cool!

We went for dinner last time when my son was 6. He enjoyed receiving a sword, opted out of the pictures with his big sis with Cinderella, but thoroughly enjoyed being in the castle.

Both of my boys now ages 5 and 7 LOVE It and always have. We have been doing it every year for the past 4 years!
They are both very much boys ( power rangers, spider-man, star wars) and LOVE!! the swords they get each time. They seem to be made different evey year. ( which is cool also)
We have told them from the start that not many people get to go up there and it is very special to go up and eat. They love going up the stairs and looking at all of the things around. Really when you are inside it is not very girl at all. It is really great for both boys and girls.

It's just going to be me and him. I'm still torn. I at least have a few months before i make my ADR's. So I'm assuming that at Cinderella's Royal Table Gaston and the Beast won't run in fighting? :) I mean... the princes have to be somewhere right?

I did not see any princes when we were there, but maybe it has changed. I feel like the only princes I ever see out and about are Aladdin and the Beast!!

Just seems to me, and please tell me if I'm wrong, there seems to be more stuff aimed specifically at girls and nothing aimed specifically at boys. I mean, if there is a Cinderella princess dinner, shouldn't they have a Peter Pan, Alladin, Jack Sparrow (etc) dinner?

I want male equality at Disney!!! lol

Me too!!:) I heard from a very relaible person that since the BBB is so popular they will be opening "Barbosa's Barber shop" next to the shop outside of pirates. It is a storge room right now but used to be part of the shop. It will be a BBB for boys....I hope the next step would be a chacter meal for the boys to wear thier stuff too. That being said we are going to the castle in july ....for me :thumbsup2 I already made the boys shirts with Too Many Princesses too little time. :rotfl:

My little guy really liked CRT! He's 6 too. But it's as a pp stated, it depends on the child.

My DS turned 6 on our trip (just got back last night). We went to Coral Reef for his birthday though. It was pretty cool. They made a special birthday menu with photos I e-mailed to them, the divers had a, "Happy Birthday" sign for him, and he got to pick out the table he wanted. It was such a cool place! Had a Star Wars cake delivered to Coral Reef and he was a happy camper! If you don't do CRT I highly suggest Coral Reef! :)

My nephew and son enjoyed it there...they loved getting the swords, and being in the castle. We all had a good time!:thumbsup2

My son is 7, and when I asked him where he would like to dine for his "birthday" (we're celebrating his birthday in May, since his actual birthday's at the end of August, and school usually starts up right around, if not the day of, his birthday, so it tends to get overshadowed), he said he wanted to eat with Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Of course, he's always had a thing for blondes...

My son, who is now 11, loved it at 5 and 7, and would LOVE to go back today...The decor of the castle is not girly at all, with all the banners and armor and stone arches. Prince Charming and Aladdin were there both times we went (not sure if they still make appearances), but my son preferred flirting with the princesses, anyway.

As a DH with three sons, I can offer the following. Disney is all about everyone having a wonderful time. If you're also going to a character meal somewhere that he loves (Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace, breakfast at 'Ohana with Stitch...) then I'd say do this for yourself. He can enjoy the princesses through your enthusiasm. He might have an eye roll or two with all the "girly stuff," but once he's a little bit older this might be more difficult. However, if this is the only character meal you're planning, then I'd suggest looking at other options... If you do go, then I'd suggest getting a few photos of him and the pricesses. They're great "blackmail" photos (in a humerous way) when boys get older. :rotfl:

Yea...I think I'm going to do it. I'm sure he'll enjoy it but more importantly... I want to eat in the castle. :)

I was considering doing Coral Reef also but I'm not entirely sure how much time, if any, we're going to spend in Epcot.

I think lunch at Crystal Palace will happen though. Want to get a nice mid afternoon air conditioning break with Pooh. :)

I agree that it totally depends on the boy. My nephew loved it. He wanted to see the inside of the castle and this provided the only opportunity that. He loved the sword, but wasn't too interested in the princesses. We had a great time and will be back on 1/17 for lunch! :cloud9:
