Has anyone eaten at CRT for dinner lately? We haven't eaten there for dinner since the 80's when it was King Stephan's Banquet. We're thinking of eating there in December. How's the prime rib?

we ate there a year ago & the prime rib was good...but I was looking at booking CRT for September, but saw a menu on Disney's website that seemed to indicate the prime rib was no more so we decided to go elsewhere (one of our guests wouldn't eat any of the entrees listed now);

the following is from the CRT page at http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/parks/magic-kingdom/dining/dreams-come-true-dinner/

The customized prix fixe menu features exceptional dishes, including choice appetizers such as:

Vegetable spring roll
BLT salad
Corn and crab soup

Sophisticated yet enjoyable entrees include:

Grilled pork tenderloin
Cheese tortellini
Spice-rubbed roast chicken
Braised lamb shank

Blueberry buckle, chocolate mousse cake and raspberry sorbet desserts make for a fine finish. Still and sparkling water is included.

Now, just because it's on Disney's website doesn't guarantee it's correct, though...I know we were just at Rose & Crown at the end of May and the menu on the Disney website was not up to date.

We were at CRT in early May and though not our favorite meal of the week it was pretty good.

I had the corn and lobster bisque which was my favorite part of the meal. It was spicy and tasty. DP had the BLT salad which was basically a large wedge of iceberg lettuce with dressing, tomatoes and bacon. She said it tasted great but not what we were expecting. We both had the prime rib for dinner with the chocolate-cream chesse buckle for dessert.

I also have pictures of the childrens mahi-mahi and chicken and cheese combo dinners.

Hope this helps some. :)

Hi, sorry to crash this thread pirate:, but did you say you can say what the kids DINNER menu is? I only found the lunch menu on AllEars, and I wasn't sure if the dinner and lunch menu were the same... Pictures nice, but not necessary. Just the menu. If anyone else knows where to see it that would help too.. We are set to go next week but I am waffling (b/c originally we were going lunch but now could only get dinner... )

Thanks!!! :flower3:

Here is a review I did from our dinner last August. We loved it :cloud9:

I surprised my 26 year old daughter with dinner at the castle and it was without a doubt, one of the highlights of our Disney World trip!
We did have a bit of a wait for Cinderella to arrive before our experience could begin. But the wait is in a beautiful castle setting so that helped pass the time as we took picture of our lovely surroundings.
I did not know what to expect as far as the time we would actually have with the princess since it was just the two of us grown-ups. I was so pleasantly surprised that Cinderella gave us as much time and attention as she did to families with young children. We had pictures taken of the three of us together and they came out marvelously. Definitely helped make the price so very worth it.
We had a magnificent window table and enjoyed an absolutely superb meal! I ordered the Roast Prime Rib of Beef which simply melted in my mouth and was cooked to total perfection. The accompanying gratin potatoes were equally as delicious and how I wish I could have taken enough back home to last me a year or two!!
My daughter ordered the Lemon Lavender Chicken on Mashed Potatoes and was as impressed with her food as I was. The chicken was flavorful and moist. We both completely enjoyed the Chocolate Cream Cheese Buckle for dessert.
The castle atmosphere is beautiful and very impressive. We took so many great pictures of our lovely surroundings. The "show" is a bit short and I am not sure how she does it, but the Fairy Godmother, despite her age, moves so quickly that it was impossible for us to get her picture! The mice stopped by our table and posed for pictures with both of us.
This was such an incredible event for both of us. It was one of our best eating experiences along with one of our most memorable times we had during our trip :)

As you can see, I had the prime rib and loved it  I will be having it again when we go next week :woohoo: as it is still listed on the menus.

Thanks for the reviews. I just wanted to get some opinions. We're going to try it.

Does anyone know the cost for CRT dining? Specifically lunch. All I can find is $39.99-$59.99 and that's to general for me as I am a planning freak.
Would it be $39.99 + tax? Tip? etc.
Do they actually charge you at the time of the reservation or is it just a credit card to hold the reservation.

$39.99 is breakfast, the dinner is $59.99 right now I believe. For 5 adults and 3 children under 9 our bill came to $390.29. It was enough to make us upgrade our meal plans since the cost of that meal and one other would cover the upgrade:-)

$60 for dinner, are you kidding me!!!!! I was going to book it for our Oct trip since we have never dined there but no way now...and not able to have a cocktail with dinner!!!! Oh the humanity!

We been here many of times for breakfast and dinner with r 5 boys. We love it here. Eating dinner in the CASTLE . Doesn't get much better than that .
In my opinion.:worship:

CRT dinner is $42.99 before tax & tip. So I think with that added it's around $53 a person for dinner.

We were just there June 1-11 for our honeymoon for dinner and i just reviewed it with pics i don't know how to link in my sig yet so you will have to go to it. AMAZING we were on the Deluxe DDP and this meal the tip was included at this meal (and only this meal) so the price really wasn't a thought and I felt is was worth 2 credits. My lamb was to die for and the salad was so good. Service was fabulous and we can't wait to go back.:dance3:

I have reservations in August for dinner. The party I'm traveling with want to eat at the castle so bad they can taste it. I pretty much got to decide on all our ADR's, so I thought I'd better let them eat at CRT. The menu really doesn't appeal to me in comparison to some of the other restaurants that count as 2 TS credits. I guess we are going for the experience. :wizard:

I would say if you want to do CRT don't go for the food alone, go for the atmosphere and the experience. I would not go there for the food. The food is average but there are MUCH better places to eat at WDW. However, the atmosphere is cool and eating in the castle is a great thing! We like to schedule it around the time of Wishes because they dim the lights and pipe in the music and its like being in the middle of it all. But, I would NEVER go just for the food.

The last time we ate there was this past March. The food is okay, I wouldn't say it was the best.

I had the prime rib and I found that it was fine. I did find that the Spring Roll was a lot better than I remember it.

But in comparison, I liked the prime rib at Le Cellier far more.:thumbsup2

Do you know what time Wishes starts? The only time slot I could book was at 8:30PM.

If I remember correctly, Wishes starts at 9 pm. I just made reservations for 8:10pm, I was concerned about being finished with dinner before the fireworks began so they suggested us arriving 20 minutes early for our reservations since we we'd be meeting Cinderella before dinner anyway..she felt sure that would give us plenty of time to view the fireworks directly after dinnerpixiedust: how awesome would it be to have 'front row seats' for the show and no rushing to get to the castle in time :thumbsup2
