I have a dd who will be 6 at the time of travel and a ds who will be 4. We have reservations for lunch at Cinderella's royal table on Monday and tickets to mnsshp on Tuesday night. My plan was to allow my DD to wear her princess dress to mk and lunch then to the Halloween party. Now my son may want to dress up for mk and lunch also. Do I let him? have you let your sons do something for Cinderella's royal table? What did you do? I was thinking of getting him a Jake costume. He would really want to be good dinosaur for Halloween party if i can find the costume. but think that is weird for royal table but it would not be fair to dd if he gets 2 costumes. ugh kids so confusing. Help my husband says don't let me son dress up for the lunch. I feel like that is not fair. Help!!!!

The Good Dinosaur needs to eat too! In all honesty, you will see kids dressed up in all kinds of Disney costumes at WDW, so it won't be out of place for him to wear his costume! I'm sure the princesses will get an absolute kick out of his costume and will have a lot of fun! Really, it's WDW, if he wants to be a dinosaur in a castle, heck, why not?!

I guess, as a mom, I would let them know they can pick one costume for the trip (princess, dinosaur, etc.) and that is the costume they can choose to wear whenever (MK/lunch, Halloween party, etc.). Then DS and DD can decide when and where they want to wear that costume. That could be a fair way to do it.

Or, if you would rather he look regal for the lunch, you could do something simple for CRT, like a prince sash that he could just throw over his clothes? Instant prince! You can find them on Etsy and they aren't very expensive.

Dressing up shouldn't be a gendered thing. Costumes are fun for kids. Let kids wear 'em.

thanks for the ideas. The kids don't know they are going to Disney so they can't pick but your suggestions will still help just mom picks the costume.

I would let him. The want-to-dress-up age is very short-lived. It will be a great memory and pics. That being said i would allow for an easy-to-store-under-the-stroller costume and be prepare that he (and she) might change his mind. :-)

DEFINITELY!!! There's tons of boys that go to CRT dressed up, heck as a group of adults we always make sure we wear cute dresses and tiaras when we're there!
I think it'd totally be fine for him to do a good dinosaur costume, it would be something he might wear in the parks anyways, and I think the princesses would love it!

As nice as the setting is for CRT, you're still at a restaurant in the middle of a popular theme park. You'll see mostly park attire and plenty of costumes on kids. I'd let them wear what they want.

On the flipside-is everyone usually dressed up? Should I make sure the boys and I are a little nicer dressed. Easy enough to stick them in a polo.

It is a theme park restaurant. There are people in cut offs and tank tops.
