Cinderella's Royal Table - ADR/cancellation question

I am hoping to secure CRT reservations right at the 180 day mark for our upcoming trip. We are traveling with a group of friends, and to make sure we are all seated together, I wanted to make an ADR for the number of people in our party (total 13 people). I know I will have to prepay for the reservation.

If within a week I get confirmation from any of the friends that they no longer want to dine at CRT, and I call back to reduce the number in our party, will I lose my initial reservation? Will I also lose part of my prepayment in the form of a cancellation fee. I would be making changes several months in advance so it's not like Disney wouldn't be able to sell the vacated tables, right?

Thanks for your insight.

As long as you cancel before the 48 hour deadline, you get all the money back for those that aren't going to be there. I don't think they will have to change the reservatin number, just remove those who are cancelling.

They have some pretty large tables, not sure if they will hold as many as 13, though.

If I were able to reserve 13, do you think there could be a note made to at least have three separate tables next to one another? We've never done CRT so I don't know much about the restaurant layout or how seating is done.

You would have to call and ask that. Any particular reason that you want seperate tables? If it is to not have the mandatory 18% gratuity, you don't have to worry, the gratuity is already added in the price of the meal.

I would think in order to break up the party, you would have to do a different reservation for each group. If it is done under one reservation, it might be hit or miss. we went with a group of 7 and we were told that at sevral restaurants we would be seperated between 2 tables, but we never were, so as I say it is probably hit or miss.

If I remember correctly, there are large tables in the middle of the room, then smaller ones (2 and 4 seat tables) around the outside and on the upper level.

You'll have to make separate reservations most likely. Last I heard they couldn't make ADRs for parties larger than 6.

At CRT or in general? I've made ADRs for up to 8 before, but not at CRT.

But the CRT-Disney website actually talks about parties as large at 12, in reference to the photo package. (A group of 12 gets 3 photo packages... so I'm assuming you can book a group of up to 12 people)

Recently (as in last month or so) CMs have been unable to make ADRs for parties larger than 6 for CRT specifically.

It sounds like I'll have to make sure that my friends call on the 180 day out to secure a common dining time since it'll be three families of four. Oh dude. I so can't multiply. I guess our party size is just 12 not 13. :) I wonder if dining will let me make three separate reservations (securing each with my credit card) just so I can be sure that we are at least seated at the same time.

I asked about the separate tables because of the mention that there may not be a table large enough to accomodate the group.

I don't know if they'll let you do this since you can't have more than one ADR in your name for one time. Especially since it's pre-pay I think I'd leave it up to everyone to make their own. Maybe everyone get together and make them at the same time, or say everyone get an ADR as close to X time.

I dealt with this just recently-

1) no parties larger than 6
2) no duplicate reservations, so book each with a different name and phone number and email address
3) the credit card must be in the name of the person making the reservation/name on the reservation

My computer was recognized, even with the cache cleared, and I was unable to make duplicate reservations online. I made one online and called in for the other two. The agent allowed me to book under two other names with their credit cards.

When you arrive for the reservation let them know at the podium that you are all together and they will try their best to get you seated together. You can definitely get the pictures together.

Thank you! These tips are all very helpful. I'll definitely pass along the information to my friends.

Glad you told me.... I need to book for a party of 10, when our window opens in another month of so. Guess I'll need to tell everyone to make their own reservation. (And hope they believe me, when I tell them they can't put off calling, that it truly needs to be done at the 180 day mark).

Though I do wonder what they do about very large immediate families. Would they refuse to allow the Brady Bunch to make a reservation? Or Bobby and Cindy would have to make a separate reservation?

I think I am going to try to book for our group of 12 (but still tell my friends to book their own), and if the CMs can book a group that big, great. We'll be one big happy party together, but if not, at least I'll have told everyone to book their own tables.

I've heard there's a little show of sorts at CRT. Does this mean that reservation times are seated times like the Aloha show at Poly (only more frequently)?

I don't know. Reports have included even Grand Gatherings being no help in getting those ADRs. I think the biggest hassle is for those in 2BR+ villas since they can have 8 or more on ONE reservation and the CMs aren't very helpful in booking 2 reservations to accommodate their party with only one reservation number with the new system.

Is it just for CRT that you cannot make reservations for parties larger than 6? I know online the option is for reservations as big as 14 people, so if I search for a reservation for 10 people for CRT is it automatically telling me there are no tables because parties that big are not allowed?

So confused...?

I had to make two separate reservations for my party of 7 at CRT. I needed my mom's reservation number to hold one table (2) and my reservation held another table (5). Our seating time is 5 minutes a part. They let me use the same credit card for both reservations.

I was able to make one reservation at all other locations for the 7 of us.

Just CRT. I have several reservations for 8.

Whoo-hoo! We have our CRT reservations for February booked, and online you CAN book up to 14 people. We may not all be at the same table, but our big group of three families are at least booked at the same time under one reservation and will be seated close together we hope. I also spoke with a Cast Member of dining reservations to confirm being able to book more than a party of 6. She told me yes that at one point you could only book up to 6, but Disney allows up to 14!!

Online reservations allowed us to book 12 today for February 2012 ADR. Cast Member confirmed this as well, that bookings can be up to 14 people. I don't know when the policy changed or if there was a change, but we were able to book 12 today.

When I made a reservation for a party of 13, they connected me to Cinderella's Royal Table directly. The cast member there was nice enough to help make the reservation. I've had the same situation at several other restaurants, Le Cellier, Flying Fish, and Kouzina. They've all been great about helping us get in. At Flying Fish and Kouzina, they have a specific time for large seatings. For instance, at Flying Fish, to get 13 seats together, you have to eat @ 5:30. That's the only seating of the day that will take parties that large. They were full for large parties the day we wanted to go, but booked us as 2 smaller tables to get around that; they couldn't guarantee we could sit near each other though!
