Cinderella's Royal Table - 2 adults no kids?

We have always wanted to eat in the castle but due to price and menu choices never have. Our next trip is my 40th bday and there is actually availability.

Since we are 2 adults no kids -would you choose breakfast or lunch? And is the experience and food really worth over $100?

We ate breakfast at CRT in October (2 adults; no kids) and loved it
The main reason we chose breakfast was to get in the park early and walk down an empty Main Street
We got some great photos of the castle before checking in at CRT and never felt awkward once we were inside
I think it would be a lovely place to celebrate your Birthday
Make sure to note it on your reservation and wear a Birthday Button

My husband and I are going to be going there next month just the two of us. It is awesome for the experience. From my past times I've been there, the food was good (not great) but you are basically paying for the experience. My husband has never been there so we are going to go. Hopefully after this, I won't have to go back there until after we have kids. I do think it is worth the experience a time or two though!

Oh and I've only ever been for dinner. I think they have changed the menu up since the last time I was there. They use to have prime rib, but I'm excited to try the beef tenderloin.

We ate lunch their September 2009 and didn't really care for the food. DH and I got different things and didn't like any of it much. Went for breakfast in May 2010 and loved it. Going back for breakfast in March 2011.

We are just back. We ate at CRT on November 26th with an 8:05am reservation. There was a minimal wait time to see Cinderella, great interaction there. We were seated at a table near a column, very crowded as my chair was very close to the chair behind me and another cm was squeezing through, I was afraid I was going to wear the other tables breakfast. The princesses were rushed. The food was ok. The adults in our party all got the eggs and sausage. Eggs were good, the sausage ok but the hashbrowns in my opinion were non edible. I felt very rushed. DS got a cupcake for his birthday. That being said, we were there for breakfast in 2003. The food was incredible and I never felt rushed. IMO it isn't worth the 2TS credits that we used. I had read that from others but had to try it for myself. I wish I would have listened.

I wouldn't worry about being an adult only party, there were a couple of them when we were there and nobody thought anything of it.

The food at breakfast or dinner has always been okay, but not really worth what you are paying. It is the experience that makes it worth the money. Definitely worth doing at least once (we keep going back repeatedly) and a great way to mark a 40th birthday, especially since you say you've always wanted to go. I've never eaten lunch there. Breakfast is fairly standard food.

I've been twice with kids, and honestly, I wouldn't bother without them. Now, maybe that's because I've had "the experience" but I personally don't have much interest in meeting the princesses without my daughters. They said themselves that, for this trip, they'd rather do different character meals and that is fine with me--I treasure the pictures we have of them with the princesses from past trips.

The interior decor and meal quality are not nearly as romantic and lovely as other places--both in Disney and (probably, unless you live somewhere remote) back in your hometown. For an expensive birthday meal with atmosphere, I'd try CG at night with fireworks or Artists Point for something you might not be able to try at home.

I booked a few minutes ago!! I took it as a sign that it was still available and went for it. I did choose breakfast - also for the opportunity for DH to get pictures of an empty Main Street.

Everyone should experience dining at the castle at least once, if possible. I went for dinner on my 40th with my husband, and we had a decent meal. Food wasn't great, but we had a nice table overlooking Fantasyland, and I received a couple of extra perks (special certificate and dessert) that I certainly appreciated. Hope you have a wonderful and special day. Sounds like a great way to kick-off a new decade for you!

Not exactly. For the past few years, you've always been charged (regardless of showing up or not) at CRT. If you're paying OOP, you're actually charged when you make your reservation. The new rules have neen helpful for getting an ADR at other restaurants, but this one was not affected. Also, the adult price at CRT is around $65 for dinner; lunch and breakfast are less.

OP, my mother & I ate at CRT for the first time in October. We had very low expectations, but wanted to experience it. It ended up being one of our favorite meals during our trip! I think selecting breakfast is a very smart idea if you're paying OOP. Have a wonderful birthday trip!!!

CRT has been a prepaid reservation since February 1, 2006, well before the no-show charges initiated this year.

in 2010 I made numerous res at various resturants, was not on any dinning plan and was not charged at time of booking nore did they take a credit card number, made them online with disney dinning booking. Showed up had nice dinner and paid at that time.
But, how ever I did just try a res for CRT and it did come up saying it was an payment in advance resturant, with this type of booking, there is going to be openings.

We ate at CRT just this last Thursday for breakfast. It was my 51st birthday trip...just my DH & me. We had never been inside the castle & it was on my must do at least once list.

We enjoyed the experience. Was neat to see the inside & we did not feel rushed at all. Matter of fact we were finished & ready to leave before they brought the photos around to us.

They gave us a sword & wand ...also for my birthday I got a signed birthday card & a cupcake.

There are 3 choices of breakfast. You all start out with fresh fruit & pastries & juice & that was great. Next you get your choice of hot breakfast, a cold breakfast or a french toast type thing. We choose the french toast thing & neither liked it at all. The hot plates of eggs & sausage we saw coming out looked great & we wished we'd got that.

However, with the fruit & pastries & several glasses of orange juice we were full enough. We were on the dining plan so the $ didn't bother us as much. It is overpriced...but I am glad I dined inside the castle as I always wanted to & it was a fun experience!

Cinderella's Royal Table in Magic Kingdom? I think you may be thinking of a different restaurant. Dessert and most non-alcoholic beverages are included in set three-course price of the meal at CRT & they do not serve any beverages with alcohol (not even sparkling wine for engagements & special occasions). The most someone will pay for dinner is almost $70 & that's only if they order a cappucinno a la carte. There's no way to "go cheap" because the adult & children's menus & prices are pre fixe.

Hubby and I are planning on booking CRT for our 2012 trip. We aren't expecting fine dining. We just want to dine inside the castle. I think it's going to be for an early breakfast because we are early risers and I think it will be fantastic to see MK when it's quiet.

You should have been charged or given a credit card for CRT (since you were on the dining plan) as it has been a prepaid restaurant since 2006. You were definitely the exception and not the rule in that case. So the prepayment thing for CRT isn't new and likely isn't the reason you're now seeing openings.

I guess if you feel you must see the castle, then go ahead and do it. But, the food is really sub-par, the princesses are very rushed, the entire experience is like a theme park ride (line 'em up, run 'em through, get 'em out).

Dh and I would never go there with just the two of us. And, I would be hard-pressed to do it again, even with little girls who love princesses in tow.

We used to really enjoy it. But, as with all Disney dining, in the last 5 years or so, it's really gone downhill.

I dined for the first time in August 2011 it has been a dream of mine since a young girl. It was just myself and my DS11. This is my suggestion if you can fit it in. I would make a reservation one hour before Wishes starts that evening 9 or 9:15 unless it starts sooner than 10pm on the evening you are going. Since it's the two of you, you have very good chances to be sat at the window or you could ask when you get there to check in but chances are you will be seated by the window. You then get a unique experience watching the fireworks show from inside the castle. To me the food was average to good compared to the other very horrible meals we had at Disney. The waitress was wonderful, I cried nearly the whole time, all the princesses come to your table, Snow White, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty and you get your picture with Cinderella. It was the highlight of our trip!
