Hey all! We are headed down to Disney next Friday! Whoo hoo! Yesterday, my brother-in-law calls to let us know that he is going to propose to his GF while we're down there. How exciting!

First of all, does anyone have any ideas for the proposal? I know Wishes is good, but we aren't going there till the last night, and I want them to be able to enjoy it for a while. He is working in Fla this summer, while she is here, so after we leave they won't see each other for a month. The first day we will be in MGM, but there is a chance they could leave in the afternoon to go elsewhere.

Second of all, I thought it would be cool to have the glass slipper to put the ring in. Does anyone know where I can order this and have it sent to the hotel so he can get it? Who should I contact?

Thanks for all your help!

I dont know if you can just order them, I am proposing this sept at the castle when we are at dinner, and I got a package that comes with a customized glass slipper that they put the ring in!!!! But I dont know if you can just order them, and if so I dont know how much time in advance you need to order them. Ive only heard of the slippers from this package that they do at the castle.

If you can't find the glass slipper - my brother just proposed to his girlfriend at fireworks on July 3. The jeweler gave him a ring box that lit up so that he could pop the question when it was dark and the fireworks were going off and she could see what the heck was in his hand! My neighbor said that this is what her husband had years ago as well. Both my brother's fiancee and my neighbor said it was really neat for a nighttime proposal.
He could always do it at other night events like Illuminations or Fantasmic if you aren't seeing Wishes until the last night. Or what about having a diver hold up a sign in the tank at Coral Reef? I actually have never seen the diver with a sign in there but I have heard that you can have that done with Happy Birthday signs and such.

They sell glass slippers in EPCOT at the glass booth outside Germany........Good Luck!

My now dh gave me my engagement ring at Cinderella's Fountain in MK (It is on the walkway between the castle and Tommorowland near Belle's Storytelling Garden).

It was wonderful... he gave me a penny to make a wish and then when I turned around he had my ring ready... and asked if that is what I wished for!

We had dinner at CRT that night and there were about 3 or 4 engagements during dessert. I was so glad that dh made it special.. and just the two of us. :wizard:

Ahhh...That made me tear up! This is a great idea. And, like you said, it's more private & not so showy. Love it!

Could you sneak to the Magic Kingdom. It is so romantic. This was my husband proposing back in June of 2004.

If you go to Disney Florist dot com, there is a glass slipper that can be ordered from there.

Hi & im adding to the fun on this thread...Here is my story....

My (then) DBF asked me to marry him in the castle... he didnt know how he was going to do it he just knew he was going to ask sometime during our trip. We had reservations at the castle and he thought he was going to propose on the steps somewhere (come to find out later) but due to the rain he said no to that idea. Then when we were sitting inside he left the table... i thought he was going to tell them that it was my bday (because it was).... at the end of the meal and waiting for my dessert, I saw a bunch of waiters come out from the back... I was like, okay, a little obvious but cute, they are about to sing happy birthday...our waiter came and tapped me on my shoulder and presented this beautiful silver tray w/ a glass slipper in the middle, rose petals, mickey heads... (my dessert wasnt anywhere in site) and my dbf got up went to his knee and I started to freak out... I still hadnt noticed the ring... was wondering where my candle was.... why wasnt people singing.... and then it hit me... he was asking for my hand... It was the most magical thing that ever happend to me (before my son was born)... people at another table took pictures of him proposing and we exchanged address' so they can send me the pics... He didnt pay anything extra to have this done... no package or anything like that... it just all fell into place... after all was said I done, i forgot how to get around the kingdom, so we went back to our hotel room and called everyone & that night I gave him something in return...... A night at the ESPN zone watching Football!!!! :happytv: :goodvibes :lmao:

If that is something that you want to do w/ the glass slipper, on main street they sell the glass slippers in that etching store... they will etch thier names in the slipper w/ the date for you...
If you have nothing planned, just play it by ear, it will all work out in the end... I promise! :)

We were part of a proposal at the MK. We got the glass slipper engraved at the shop on Main Street.

If he can get a chance to sneak off on his own, I got a glass slipper made at the Arribas Brothers store in Mexico at Epcot. There's also an Arribas Brothers store at Downtown Disney. I really like the idea of getting a box that lights up, though!
