We have been to WDW a few times but never had the chance to be able to dine in cinderella's castle. We are going next year and i would love the experince to dine their but we have two boys 10,11 so i'm not sure if they would like it, is a bit to girly for boys?

on the boys. We've gone the last three trips and our son doesn't like it.

There's really nothing girly about the meal other than everything is centered around princesses (and/or leading ladies). They do have swords that they give all of the boys.

We had breakfast there this past summer and my 5yo boy loved it. He loved being the center of attention with all the princesses as well as getting a sword. I would think it truly depends on your kids though. :goodvibes

Most boys just tolerate it. But if YOU really want to go, and want to pay the price, then go for it! But I would be sure to tell them they don't have to pose with the princesses or get autographs if they don't want to. Put the camera in their hands and have them take pictures of YOU with the princesses though!

There is something magical about sitting in the castle, overlooking Fantasyland during your meal. I love it and can't imagine a trip without it!

My 4yr old son LOVED it and now that he is 6, he still can't wait to go back. For him, it is all about eating at the castle. He tolerates the princesses, but he just loves the atmosphere of the castle itself. That said, I don't know how a 10 yr old boy would feel. It is mostly centered around princesses and to be fair, my son is surrounded by girls (older sister and younger one), so he is just used to being around princesses all the time! :cutie:

Honestly though, I do think there's a pretty substantial difference between boys at age 6 and 10 or 11.

There's nothing really girly about the restaurant. It's very regal. But it IS full of a bunch of little girls dressed as princesses.

We are taking our dd 7 and while we are in there, our ds 15 and ds 16 will enjoy a quick CS then continue riding all the rides in MK. The idea of eating in CRT made them laugh incredulously then stare at me in horror when they considered that I might be serious. So they wont be joining us....

No worries. They prefer CS, and with the "extra" TS credits, dh and I will be eating at Jiko :cloud9: lol

Last fall, we split up for this too. My daughter and I ate at the castle, and my husband and son went on back to the hotel for some CS and boy time. They were happy as can be, and we LOVED the girl time in the castle.

They might like the 1900 dinner (Cindy/Prince/Step-sisters) or breakfast (other characters??) better. It is located close to MK too.

Yes, the 1900 Park Fare is at the GF. It's a more interactive character meal in my opinion and we've done both dinner there and at CRT. Food was good at both too but the characters are just more fun here at 1900 Park Fare.

But, if you want to eat in the castle, you should TOTALLY do it!:goodvibes My DH wasn't too excited to eat there but when he saw how excited I was, he was all for it. The atmosphere was incredible, worth every penny for me and we're eating breakfast there on our next trip too. So, if this is something important to you, then go for it.:goodvibes Heck, why not eat at both?:thumbsup2

Most boys will tolerate it, but will hate it. It is a princess character meal, the princesses come around to the tables, pose for pictures and sign autographs. There is also a wishing ceremony for all the princes and princesses to wave their wands and swords and make a wish.

If you have a little girl go for it, but if it is just the boys, you'd prob be better off skipping it.

If you really want to go, then go for it and make them suck it up. It's your vacation too.

Hmmm... not sure about those ages. DS5 has enjoyed it every trip since he was 2... ... then again, he is still in that phase of cracking a HUGE smile when he meets a princess... little flirt! ;) I must say... he would already ditch the castle for an extra meal at the T-Rex restaurant, though... :)

We went to the Princess Storybook Character Dining at Akershus this past February, and my 13-year old son loved it. Not because he's girly or anything, but because he's just getting old enough to realize how "hot" the princesses are (as he puts it). ;)

We took pictures of him with all of the princesses that came by. He loved all of the attention from them.

My son and my wife have both always wanted to eat in Cinderella's castle, so we're going there for a breakfast on our next visit.

I'm making my big boy, aka DH ;), and my 13 yo DD eat at Cinderella's castle in October. Neither one of them is very excited about it but I am! We were lucky enough to get an 8:05am reservation so we get into the MK before it opens and then we'll have a jump start on the crowds at rope drop. Plus, I just love the atmosphere in the castle.

It depends on the boy. My nephew loved it and even got a kiss from a princess and he didn't want to wash his face. An older boy might tollerate it for his Momma...
