I was just wondering if anyone knew if the decorations they did for the 50th anniversary celebration are here to stay. It seems like everytime I've been, the castle has been decorated for some sort of occasion. I don't think I've ever seen it normal! Back in 8th grade, years and years ago, it was decorated for some reason also. Thanks!

They are in the process, as we speak, of removing the decorations from the Castle. I actually liked the gold but hated the mirror thingie. I almost wish they would leave some of the gold there. It should be 'naked' in Oct sometime.

The 50th "bling" is being removed even as we speak (the construction crane is there, being used after-hours.)

I assume that "years and years ago" was a joke.
The castle was a pink "birthday cake" for WDW's 25th Anniversay in 1996-97.

They are doing "something" to the castle for the next "promotion" (certain lucky guests will be selected to spend the night IN the castle) but I still am not sure if anything will be visible on the OUTSIDE, or if it will only be upgrades for accomodations done to the interior.

I'm just the opposite! I have never seen the castle decorated. Everytime we go it's just plain. I was really hoping they would leave the gold on it for our trip, but no such luck.

Last time I was there was back in the 80's, early 90's. So, I too have only seen it naked. I want my daughter to see it naked as well.
