We are soon to be first timers, is there a lot to see at the Castle?, I am planning my MK day, maybe 2 days, no sit downs , just CS meals. Should I just divide the park in half(work one half) and do it that way? Strategizing and planning are my type A nature. Where do I find the ears that I can get embroidered? What is the best snack/sugar food there? Do a lot of adults do Dumbo? Teacups? :rolleyes1
Is it normal( :rotfl2: ) to be this ?excited? :Pinkbounc

First off have you been to the Allears site? Some good info there for a first timer. The castle is just the restaurant and 2 stores. *or they might be one store now- half high end stuff- other half tinkerbell princess stuff. My boys love looking at the swords in the higher end half of the store. As for planning your day. Decide what "hot" rides you want to do and hit those first- to avoid crowds. So I wouldn't do half and half.. it usually isn't the best way to see as much as you can.
Sugar treat is debatable here... Many swear by the Dole floats. (those are ok in my book) but my all time must have treat is a cookie sandwich from the main street bakery- You get to pick any 2 cookies and they fill it with ice cream. YUMMY!!!
As far as CS check out Columbia Harbor house and sit upstairs
Embroidered hats..I know they do them up front at that hat store right at the top of Main street
And yes you will see adults on Dumbo and definatly on Teacups!
Of course it is normal to be this excited!!

There's not a lot to see at the castle, it's really just a walk through. We (DH,DD2 and I) usually spend 3 days at MK. On the first visit to MK we'll do Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square and maybe some of Fantasyland and a bit of shopping on Main Street. On the second we will do the rest of the park and anything we've left out. We also stay to watch the parades and Wishes. On the final visit we do anything we want to do again and spend the rest of the time shopping for souviners.

And yes, a lot of adults go on Dumbo and the Teacups! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Hope this has helped! Have fun!

To answer some of you questions:
Castle: There is a walkthru area for you to look at some murals on the wall and a shop that sells Cinderella things in it. So no there is not an attraction inside, just a place to get from main street to Fantasyland. There is also a restuarant upstairs (Cinderellas Royal Table) a very fun place to eat. princess:

Magic Kingdom 2 days: You will need both days to be able to enjoy the whole park. You can split the park in 2 parts and do it that way, or you can do all the must sees the 1st day and the 2nd day go back and ride those again or visit some that you didn't get to the 1st day.

Mickey ears: There are many places that sell them, If you ask the CM at the store I'm sure they can tell you where to get them embroidered. Main street shops would be my 1st guess.

Best snack: Mickey Ice cream bars is my favorite. But if you want something sugary stop by the main street bakery :thumbsup2

Dumbo and Teacups: You bet, they are the best rides for all those kid at heart adults :woohoo:

And yes, it is very normal to be that excited. We leave in one month and I can't wait :Pinkbounc :cool1:  :woohoo:

Congrats on your first trip to Walt Disney World  :woohoo: Yes, it is quite normal to be that excited about going. One strategy to consider, is to work your way around Magic Kingdom like a clock (counter or clockwise) and use the castle as a hub or the center point. Do any and all rides that you want to. Several of the classic rides, Dumbo, TeaCups, Peter Pan, etc. are considered tame, but I count them as a must do when we go.

There is only one shop in the Magic Kingdom where names can be embroidered on your Mouse Ears :earsboy: :earsgirl: . I can't remember the name of it but after you enter the park, go past the flag pole and turn to your right where Main Street starts. (At the candy shop) A couple of doors down is the embroidery shop. There is usually a pin cart right in front of it. Don't wait until the end of the day to go. After the parade and fireworks, it is packed and you may have a long wait. :crowded:

So far as sweet treats, I love dole whips from adventureland and mickey premium bars from any ice cream kiosk. :mickeybar My kids and DH love Churros in frontierland. I don't care for those though.

If you think your excited now, wait til you see how excited you'll be before your next trip. I've been at least 11 times (I've lost count!) and I'm going back in July. I'm more excited then ever. It somehow just keeps getting better. :tigger: :simba: :goofy: :tink: :mickeyjum :donald:

Have a great trip. pixiedust:

I would plan for 2 days so you won't have to rush and miss out on stuff.

Under the treat category my husband swears by the turkey legs in Frontier land (Accross from Country Bears Jamboree)

I like anything from the candy shop or the Bakery!!

For a great counter service meal try Pecos Bills we always eat there!!

The store where you can get the hats is called the Chapeaux and its on main St. in MK. There is no such thing as being to excited!!!! :jumping1:
