We've had reservations for Cinderellas castle for several weeks, but now that I'm reading threads am wondering if it's more fun at Akershush with more of
the princesses being there? Our girls are 6 & 9...want to pick one so we can do another charachter dining. Thanks!!

We have done both. Hands down it is the Castle. It is a different feel. You are treated like royality. The service is at a whole different level. Yes, you see princesses at both. The princesses in Norway are centered around the countries. It is fun in Norway. But, it is a second for a reason. It is buffet where as the Castle is a sit down meal. Yet, it is the only character meal worth 2 credits on the dining plan. There is a reason why it is a bit more tricky to get into the castle. It is an experience like no other. You will not be disappointed at the castle. Enjoy!

We've done both--CRT is my DHs favorite breakfast as far as the meal is concerned. The atmosphere is also waaaay better. There's just something about being escorted to the top of the stairs and seeing the inside of the castle. We had dinner at Akershus & it wasn't as magical as the castle. It really wasn't magical at all. No slight against Norway, it just isn't the castle. The room is kind of dark & I remember the food wasn't really that tasty either. The highlight was seeing Ariel with legs, instead of a mermaid tail. You don't get that at the castle:) We also saw Alice in Wonderland--she's not at the castle either.

Good luck!

Unless it's changed I don't think there are more princesses at Norway. :confused3

When we've been there CRT had about five princesses, and I think Norway also had about five. Just don't do CRT for dinner. You won't get any princesses other than Cinderella at dinner. Choose breakfast or lunch.

I prefer the atmosphere at CRT. We had lunch at Akershus and thought the food was just fine. It's not entirely a buffet, either. There are some cold appetizer-ish items on the buffet, but your meal is brought to the table. I believe at breakfast there are pastries and such on the buffet, but the rest of the meal is served family style at your table. Still, you do need to get up to go the buffet at some point and I prefer not to do that at character meals if it can be avoided. So, CRT would again get my vote as far as food service style goes, no jumping up and down there.

I have been to both for breakfast and I would choose CRT over Norway..hands down. First of all the atmosphere at the castle can not be beat! It is really magical to eat in the castle with the princesses. The castle had better food..in my opinion..and the princesses were quicker to get to your table in the castle...In Norway they tell you that it can take an hour to an hour and a half to see all the princesses..we ended up leaving before Mulan came over because we were waisting to much time...Both are wonderful but CRT was magical ;)

My favorite princess meal is Norway....Love it...for 1 TS;)

Although...I do believe eating in the castle is a MUST DO....if you haven't been. After the 1st time though...I prefer Norway to see the princesses. Only place Ariel is anyway.

On word...Castle!!!!!

Seriously if you go the castle the girls will love it and not say how come we didn't eat in Norway. If you eat in Norway when you get to MK they will say when can we eat in the castle.

My daughters are 6 and 8. We went to all the different princess meals (Cinderella's Royal Table, Akershus, 1900 Park Fare) last year and the one they liked the best was CRT. They each got a wand and made a wish with a wishing star (which they took very seriously). They loved being in the castle!

If they haven't been to the CRT, you definitely should bring them this one time since you are so lucky to already have an ADR. But be forwarned, they might be spoiled by going to the castle. princess:

I think the castle is a must do at least once and your girls are a perfect age for it! So magical, it has always been the one meal my dd tells people about, getting to eat in Cinderella's house :goodvibes

We never did the castle, buut Norway is great.

Many people I know personally say that the castle is rushed and overpriced (2 credits).

The next trip for us Norway is a given then we will do park fare to meet cinderella.

We did both CRT and Akershus last year (DD5 and DD8 at the time) CRT was awesome! The fact of eating in the castle alone was wonderful. The wand and 'wishing' were a hit with DD5. This is one of her favorite memories and have the best pic of her 'wishing'. We actually liked the food at CRT for lunch.

The Akershus was nice and the princesses were great!!! We are not picky eaters but were not fond of the food here.

Just ask DDs and they said CRT!!!

We are going in August and are trying 1900 PF at the GF... we have heard wonderful things and are excited about it! Have fun!

Are you doing the castle for dinner? If so, you will only see Cinderella. If you are doing the castle for breakfast or lunch, you will see the same amount of princesses as Akershus.

If I was deciding between dinner at the castle and Akershus, I would choose Akershus because we are all about meeting the princesses.

i have never been to either one, but am leaning towards the crt. does anyone know if the photo package described on allears is included with the meal?

Yes, it is. I believe there is now a photo package included at Akershus as well, and the price increased. I think that took effect in April but I'm not positive.

I don't have girls and didn't do the other. But I would say given the choice the Castle!:thumbsup2

Lots of misinformation on this thread.

It is not correct that there are 5 princesses at both Cindy's and PSB. There are 5 CHARACTERS, but not necessarily princesses.

It is also not correct to say that PSB (Akershus) is a buffet. There is a cold buffet, but the hot food is brought to your table, just like Cindy's.

We have done both Cindy's and PSB. The atmosphere at Cindy's is way better. There is something about being inside Cinderella castle. It is like nothing else. The food at either place is just so-so. You're not really there for the food. It's fine, but it's not fine dining....

Whether you will get more princesses at one or the other is impossible to know before-hand, as they don't tell you which characters will be there.

In my experience, we only had two princesses at Cindy's - Cinderella and Belle. The other characters were not thrilling for my daughter: Mary Poppins, Fairy Godmother and Alice in Wonderland. They were fine, but they're not princesses. At PSB, we had 4 princesses and Pocahontas. We saw Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and then Pocahontas (who was a show-stopper).

Different people had different experiences. If your little ones are big into Cinderella - then you should try for the castle. If they're big into Ariel (like mine), then there's a good shot you'll see her at PSB. If there's one particular princess you want to see, you can maximize your chances of seeing her by checking these boards to see which princesses routinely show up at which meals. I noted that Ariel tended to show up at PSB lunch, rather than breakfast, and so, booked that meal to maximize our chances of seeing her -- and YAY -- she was there.

Good luck!

We are going in August and I have booked breakfast at Akershus and then a dinner at the CRT. I have a daughter who is 5 and a son who is 8 - they are both excited to eat in the Castle - this is one of the things they are most looking forward to . The castle is so visible in all Disney they really want to do that. Since this is our first trip to Disney and one never knows when there will be another one I am going to use the opportunity to do both - not compare them but enjoy each one as their own experience.

We much prefer the castle :thumbsup2

We did Akershus for the first time @ breakfast in 12/04. The princess interaction was good and the breakfast was ok-standard American offerings :)

We then did Akershus for dinner in 10/06. I won't ever do lunch or dinner there again :rotfl: Both of our girls are picky eaters and I am not fond of seafood.... the Norweigan menu was quite limited for the picky eaters in my family :rotfl: We also got an awful table in which the princesses seemed to pass over every time they were in the room because of where it was situated-I had to go after Aurora and then later on, Cinderella, so my girls could meet them because each one circled the room and went right past us :confused3 without stopping at our table.

We ate at CRT for breakfast last August-it was by far the most magical meal we ever had @ WDW! :thumbsup2 We got a table overlooking Fantasyland :goodvibes :goodvibes and were constantly being visited by the princesses and Fairy Godmother :) :) The wishing ceremony was such fun :) Loved the whole "feel" of being in the castle :) We'll be going back again this August! :)

My favorite is Cinderella's Gala Feast at 1900 park fare. Those Stepsisters are hilarious.

I think when people are talking about a buffet they are talking about breakfast. Lunch and dinner are sit down meals. When we went to Akershus we saw 5 princesses. Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine(our favorite that night), Aurora, and Ariel. My daughter is not a huge Cinderella fan so the princess options here are great. The food was not our taste. Worth it for the Princesses.
