Cinderella Slipper Dessert

Camcolt- I notice that yours does not have the names on them. Did you request this or is the new thing on the chocolate plate?

We did not request them. My kids were sharing 1 order of bones(I knew they wouldnt eat them so I wasnt getting 2), and we got 2 slippers to share between the 3 adults, so I didnt really care about the name on the plate.

Oh my goodness, Janet! What are those Mickey heads made out of? Is it icecream? Those are the cutest things.

Thanks for the pics...Looks yummy:crazy: :earseek:

I assume you mean the slippers? The slipper is white chocolate and its filled with a vanilla mousse type filling, and rasberries. Thats a piece of dark chocolate surrounding chocolate mousse with white chocolate shavings sticking out. I have to say Im not big on chcoolate mousse and I thought this was delicious. I was very surprised about that. That reddish stuff is a rasberry sauce, and the plate was made out of white chocolate too. It was like getting 3 desserts in 1.

sorry i forgot to ask in my previous post but do you know the number to call for the slippers:D

thanks eve::MinnieMo

We played a lot of phone tag by calling the main GF #, being transferred and leaving messages, or once the phone just kept ringing and ringing. Finally "Dominic" left a message with a direct # to call and we got him there no problem. The # was 407 824-2978.

I just placed the order for a slipper for DD and a dog bone for DS. I called the number given in this thread, which went straight to 1900 Park Fare. The lady who answered was able to take my order. It was nice not to be trasferred all over the hotel, but I think it would've been nice actually to speak with someone in the bakery. She quoted me $14 for the slipper. When I also ordered the dog bones, she wasn't as familiar with that & didn't know the price. I asked about the white chocolate plates & she said she'd never seen that before. On the positive, side she didn't charge me extra for having the names put on the plates. She took my PS# for our dinner at 1900 Park Fare. I believe she linked the order to our PS?

If the plates aren't chocolate, I think this is pretty high for a dessert. I'm doing it once for a surprise treat, but probably won't do it again. Thanks so much to everyone here who informed & educated me on these special desserts!

Have a magical day,
Christy

I ordered specialty desserts during our stay last week and the prices were:

White Chocolate Slipper and Dark Chocolate Tear drop with mousse and Castle screen (with or without name) $14

Mini Wedding Cake (small, two tier) $25

Tuxedo Strawberries (5 per plate) $5 each or $25

I think everything was worth the $$ except the cake. It just didn't do it for me. I think I am too much of a cake fanatic!

Transportation really is an issue in the FL heat so I doubt you would be able to get them at the Castle. Doesn't hurt to ask though!

CamColt, gosh, I am such a hotdog & fries kinda girl that I hate to admit that I have no idea what they were! (I didn't get to sample them at my dessert party because I was too full from the dinner prior.) I did look at my GF Banquet & Event Order just now to find out exactly what they were called -- it stated Mickey Mouse Bombe. And then I just went to a food dictionary website to look up exactly what a bombe is. This is what I found:

- - - - - - -
bombe; bombe glacée
[BAHM, bahm glah-SAY]
A frozen dessert consisting of layers of ice cream or sherbet. The ice cream is softened and spread, one layer at a time, in a mold. Each layer is hardened before the next one is added. The center of a bombe is often custard laced with fruit. After it's frozen solid, the bombe is unmolded and often served with a dessert sauce. The original bombe molds were spherical; however, any shape mold may be used today.

- - - - - - -

So, it looks like you knew more about my dessert than I did. Gosh, I feel so bad that I couldn't help you out more. All I know is that those little Mickey hats sure looked cute (and the kids loved 'em).

I can't wait to try the Dog Bone dessert that you described (and showed the cute picture of).

Oh My! Thats sounds wonderful.
And thats ok,Im the same type of person...and Ive never heard of a bombe either, LOL! They are adorable though. :D

I was planning on getting the slipper for my daughter & the mini cake for my son on our upcoming trip.

But now you have me worried about the cake!

*What type of cake & filling did you get?
*Did you have a choice?
*Why was it not great (was it dry, bland,...etc.).

If I'm going to pay $25 for a little cake, I want it too be good.

Thank you in advance on the details of the cake!
;) :D ,
Katie

I ordered the slipper for my DD, 9 and 2 mini cakes for me and DH, for our lunch at GF cafe during our stay in September. Mine is white, white mousse and white hollow castle on top, his is all in chocolate.

They don't have that many to choose from for dessert, the other ones you see pictures of are from weddings, special designed.

They are $25 dollars each..whoah!!! But I just have to have one ;) The most expensive dessert I'll ever have!

Was your mini cake good or just average? If it's just average, I may go another route for a dessert for my son!

Thanks!

:)

It's for this upcoming trip in September LOL.

I didn't even think about that we were there last year in
September too!!!

Sorry! :sunny:

I just discovered this thread today. I did not know about these; how cute! Do I have to order the slipper or dog bones in advance or can you purchase them at a restaurant (as just dessert - we don't plan on eating there. I saw the posts about taking them to do, which we might do.

Also, can we order the mouse ears or are those for special parites only? We arrive on a Saturday early afternoon and are not going to the parks. Thought those might be fun to go get after we do Chef Mickey Saturday evening.

Thanks for your thoughts.
