Cinderella Royal Table---a do or don't

I think people get really down on CRT because of the price ... if it were the same price as Akershus or only required one TS credit like Akershus, it would be THE spot to dine with the princesses. I think, if you eat at CRT, you really need to not focus on the price or you will be disappointed. Heck, I feel all Disney restaurants are overpriced for the food you get, but in WDW it is all about atmosphere and location.

CRT is one of my WDW favorites. I've enjoyed breakfast, lunch and dinner and have always found the food to be fresh and tasty. Have I had better food & service for a lower price? You betcha! But, nobody else has the location and the princesses.

Eating at CRT was lots of fun! Both my girls 10 and 3 at the time absolutely loved it. We went for breakfast. We didn't feel rushed at all. Actually we also went to Norway and felt very rushed there.

The castle is one of our must do's and we are doing it again in June. We had a great time at CRT. Have an excellent trip!

Do you remember who was at CRT breakfast? Trying to decide about it and/or Akershus, and we did CRT dinner last time w/ Akershus breakfast.

We did CRT breakfast and had Cinderella (downstairs for photos) along with Fairy Godmother downstairs. Upstairs we had Aurora, Belle (blue dress), Snow White and Mary Poppins. In the past we had Jasmine as well, that day they said she wasn't feeling well so I assume she is still normally there.

At Akerhaus we went for dinner. We had Belle (yellow dress) for photos, then Ariel, Jasmine, Cinderella and Aurora come to the table.

Both were very enjoyable but CRT wins for me hands down, it is my second favorite meal, second only to Chef Mickey's.

To OP--- For an alternate first night, I'd suggest chef Mickey's. Nothing puts you in a Disney spirit like CM. A little story. We took our DD14 for her first trip for her 3rd birthday. On our first morning we were to CM for breakfast. She had a great time of course. When we left we hopped on the monerail to go to the Magic Kingdom. She said to us, eyes full of tears, "Thank You Mommy, Thank You Daddy for bringing me to Disney world, it was the best day of my life!" We then got to tell her we had not even made it to the world yet, that was only breakfast. 11 years later she still remembers that first breakfast. CM is the only restaurant we have gone to every trip (CRT all but that one, we couldn't afford it that trip, still can't but go anyway! ) We go for one breakfast and one dinner every trip. We love it!!! I know your DD would too...

MickyMomofthree, you just gave me goose bumps! I am actually hoping they have the free dining plan at the end of September because I am HIGHLY considering doing another trip to celebrate her 3rd birthday. Thank you for sharing.

We have never been for dinner but we have been twice for breakfast. My DD5 of course loves it and my DS2 had a good time as well. He was nervous around the other characters(Mickey, Goofy, ect) but the princesses he did pretty well around. The breakfast is my favorite and I would not think to go to Disney without having breakfast at the castle. The atmosphere is amazing and it really is a spectacular place.

I've eaten in the castle a few times....first time was in 2006 for my honeymoon. We did both dinner and breakfast. My husband absolutely loved the food, I loved the experience. Breakfast is great and I highly recommend it. My best friend and I did it late last year too and had a blast. I have never felt rushed either. I'm heading there again next week to celebrate my 3rd anniversary and hubby and I have dinner plans there again.

We're going in June for the first time ever. I booked for dinner. I called today and was glad I did. I was actually surprised I got a ressie..I had read it was such a hard place to book. Granted Iam kinda stuck with a pretty early dinner time of 4:20 but I was still pretty darn surprised they had anything. Iam going for the atmosphere of being in the castle..if the food is great that will be a bonus;)

Have eaten there twice, for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was outright horrible, but the breakfast was amazing. :thumbsup2

You should do CRT with your Mom and DD while you can. It is a once in a lifetime experience and comes with pictures so your DD will "remember" it.

It is uniquely Disney.

That said. It is terribly overpriced and the food is hit or miss. Of course I've got some great pictures and memories of my DD's on the Fairy Godmother's lap.

My DD's are way over the Princesses now so I can say looking back I sooo glad I did it then but I'll probably not go back until I take my Grandaughters in 20 years.

Chef Mickey's is a great alternative for the first night.

We've only done breakfast at CRT so far (2004) and it is the only place DD7 has asked to go back to on our upcoming trip. :cutie: This time, we're trying lunch and will be bringing my parents along too.

I think that everyone should dine in the Castle at least once in their lifetime - it's a great experience and if the food is good, it'll make it even more memorable. :goodvibes

We like to go for lunch because it is a nice break from running around the park. I didn't go for years; I thought it was too expensive for what you would get and too hard to get into. About 6 years ago, we finally went the first time based on a friend's suggestion, and we really enjoyed it. Eating in the castle is a great experience, and we love the photos we've gotten over the years with Cinderella.

I would certainly go at least once.
