we are going in march and are trying to see if it is still possible to make reservations for this. We will have a 3 year old little girl who loves the princesses.

how is the food there? is it an "all you can eat" style of eating? i know that it is not a buffet like chef mickey's is or anything like that. i had read that they ask you if you want a hot or cold meal...

but how is the food and how does it work? my husband and i are curious... not sure if we want to pay $20 for one plate of pancakes & eggs, when we can do crystal palace or chef mickey's for less and have a buffet to choose from. :confused3

just curious... please help!! :(

thanks!
jen

The food is preplated, but you can ask for more. When you are seated, you'll be asked if you want the "traditional breakfast" i.e bacon, eggs, sausage, hashbrowns, stuffed french toast, or if you want the healthy or lighter choice (granola and fruit). If you want more, you can request a whole new plate of everything or you can just get more eggs or whatever you'd like.

but is the food good? the same as it is in crystal palace or the like?

any info would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

jen

We went in May 2004 and we loved the food. It was one of our favorite dining experiences at Disney. Good luck getting reservations. We are going in May of this year and we are really hoping to go back. I loved the stuffed french toast. The kids enjoyed the french toast sticks and bacon. They keep bringing food unitl you are FULL. :earboy2:

You would need to start calling now because they are already booking April and CRT is really hard to get.

We were there last month and had a great time - the food was very good, and they did not rush us at all, they kept asking if we wanted more food, fruit, breads, ect... You should call every day if you really want to get a PS, sometimes one opens up. Use the 1800-828-0228 number so its not a toll call.

We still try to get this breakfast every trip because of the 'cheese danish.' It is wonderful, and the only place at WDW which serves it. It's a cream-cheese danish which is dipped in a sweet batter, deep-fried (briefly) and then rolled in cinnamon/sugar. The almost cried the few times we weren't able to secure PS's for this breakfast, because I look so forward to enjoying the danish! :D

Yes, the food is good!

I agree with Mickeyhugger...the cheese filled danish(also sometimes referred to as french toast), is delicious! Although ours have never had sugar & cinnamon on it. Once it was served with an apple topping and once it had a blueberry topping on it. I think I would prefer it plain and I wish they had it at a restaurant thats not so difficult to get PSs for. The eggs, bacon and sausage were pretty much your typical stuff. I really liked the potato casserole, but DH didnt care for it much. It just wasnt his thing.
They also give you a little bread basket to start off with that had croissants, mini chocolate muffins, things like that. That was very good too.

I also agree with those who say to keep calling daily to try to get a PS. I hope one opens up for you.

we loved the food (almost as much as we loved the princesses!), it was above average disney fare!

i remember a bowl of fruit being on the table along w/the sticky buns... plus we ordered "both" when asked if we wanted traditional or healthy and in addition to each of our pre-plated meals, we received a bowl of granola and yogurt which was wonderful!

as far as theh "quantity" there was no trouble getting seconds (or thirds) of whatever you wanted... you did not have to take a full "plate" but rather could request specific items (i.e. my dd wanted more scrambled eggs) or in dh's case just get a second plate!

juice was plentiful and varied (apple, orange, grapefruit i think), coffee was good, nice selection of tea bags, and the standard milk and chocolate milk... i think between the four of us we had all of it! gotta stay hydrated!

if you can snag a ps, ENJOY!

I learned the last time there to order the stuffed toast, without the fruit. It comes our very hot and fresh. Makes all the difference. The other food there is good, but I wouldn't say great. You cannot beat the atmosphere though

Jen ... if you can't get a CRT ressie (we have never done it yet ... waiting until both girls are a bit older to get us moving better in the morning!) ... anyways if you can't get one try the GF for the 1900 Park Fare Gala Feast with Cinderella and friends. We went last year and our dd, who was almost 3 at the time, was completely enthralled with the whole experience. We are headed back there for her 4th birthday this year in March and can't wait as our youngest now knows who she is just because her big sister is so obsessed! The buffet was very good and the character interaction was great (Cinderella, Prince Charming, Pearla and Suzie, and the Fairy Godmother). The kids buffet was a nice addition to it. I think it around 25 for adults and 12 for kids 3 and up. I'd rather pay that for a dinner, although the experience in the castle would be neat too.

Have fun!

My daughter was 4 years old when we attended CRT and it has been the only time in her life that she was absolutely speechless. Seeing the princesses, who were so attentive and friendly and just being in the castle was a princess: princess: thrill for her. I don't think she touched her breakfast. I did not think the food was that great, but we really were'nt there for the food. Make sure the little girl in your party wears a princess costume, my daughter got a lot of attention from the princesses when she wore her Cinderella costume!

This is probably the hardest reservation to get. I would doubt you could, at this point; people set their alarms to get through at 7am for this meal.
