Cinderella Breakfast--what to wear?

Silly question... I see so many adorable pictures of little girls dressed up for their meals. My question is --how realistic is this? We will be having breakfast on Day 1 at the Royal Table--our first time ever at Disney. I just think that my little one would be so uncomfotable wearing that and i don't want to have to leave and change or lug around clothes. Am I missing something? Advice, suggestions --PLEASE!

My dd wore her Cinderella dress to CRT. She wore a shirt underneath and I carried a pair of pants in a bag when she was ready to take it off, we just slipped her pants on under the dress and took the dress off. It was really no big deal and she felt really special wearing her dress, and the princess commented on her dress. When Aurora, Snow White, Jasmine and Belle came around, they addressed her a princess.

I know that my daughter is DYING to wear her Tinker Bell costume when we go in April to the CRT. When I was talking with the CM about what time to eat she did say that many of the girls are dressed up at breakfast. We are just going to bring her over in her costume and then change her for the day. Luckily (from the standpoint) we will also have our daughter who will be a year so we will have the stroller so we can put it in the stroller for the rest of the day.

I just hope that my daughter isn't going to look silly in Tinker Bell since she really isn't a "princess"...any thoughts? princess:

Your daughter will be fine as Tinkerbell.

My daughter goes as a Princess du Jour (last year was Jasmine, year before was Cindy, etc.) We just packed her a change of clothes if she wanted to change (depended on how hot it was, and/or raining).

Some kids dress up and some don't - your child may even want to stay dressed up all day, some do that.

I couldn't tell your location... I am in the South, where smocking is very popular. My DD wore a dress smocked with Cinderella and the carriage, horse, shoe, etc. Sort of a compromise between not dressing up, and wearing a costume.

My daughter wore the whole get up and we brought a change of clothes for her. She didn't want to change right after breakfast, but decided to after a few hours. It's really not that bulky to carry around a shirt and pants.

When we went on Dec. 7th, my 2 yr old niece wore her Snow White costume (which happened to be her halloween costume) and was fawned over by all of the characters. Especially Snow White. She signed in her autograph book, "To my twin". We brought a change of clothes and changed her in the big family restroom down on the first level. There are also restrooms halfway down the stairs. Afterwards we folded it and put it in the stroller.

I think Tink will be fine. I read on this board tha one little girl explained that she is the "Princess of all the fairies", and little princessed know these things. We packed Tink for our little DGD who is 4 to wear to one of the meals. Hope that your little Princess has a magical time! :wizard:

We're also going the morning of our first full day and my DD4 intends to dress up (DD7 changes her mind every other minute). Since we're going in June, she can wear shorts and a tank top under the costume and then take it off whenever she's through (which may not be until bedtime!). Her costume is light enough that adding it to my backpack full of everything else won't be a big deal.

I know you said you didn't want to lug clothes around all day, but if you're going to be carrying a purse or bag anyway, the costume shouldn't be too much of a hardship. If your DD can wear her street clothes under the costume, that'll help too. If you're staying onsite and going back to your resort in the afternoon for a break (which we plan to do) then you won't be carrying the costume but for a couple of hours anyway.

In my opinion, it's definitely worth it for my DD to really feel like a princess herself when she goes to meet Cinderella and the rest of the ladies. She already thinks she is one, so why not have her dress the part?!

We went with DS2 and the WONDERFUL AND TALENTED ladies of the T shirt board made matching crown designs for us to iron on a T shirt- Prince Kyle for my son, Princess Mommy for me and King Daddy for DH. We got quite a bit of attention with those!

My nieces and I all wore crowns when we ate there. It was a mix of girls dressed up and those who weren't. Worked best for us and they didn't feel left out. When we went to Akershus Dinner this fall, they just wore regular park clothes and again, were fine with that.

No matter what they where, have a great time!

How do you go about ordering these? I'd love to do this!!

My DD will be 17 months old and is just wearing her halloween costume which is long sleeved velvet dress with pink tulle skirt and tights. I actually bought it with taking her to the castle in mind for our Jan trip! I figure its no more comfortable/uncomfortable than any other dress. We are not however bringing the beautiful fairie wings to go with the costume, but are planning on the crown and ballett type slippers. Can't wait

My daughter was 4 when we went and she didn't dress up and it was totally fine :) She wore a running suit that had the princesses on it and received plenty of nice comments on it. We are going back in January and I'm sure she will wear something with a princess on it but not a dress up costume. I'm just not willing to carry it around all day and she's not the type to wear it all over the parks. She also has a princess hat we bought at MK last time that she could wear because it's much easier to carry and she might even want to wear it all day.

This last trip dd was 8, and dressed up as Cindy, and let me tell you, the entire day was sprinkled with pixie dust. We were there 9/28 for lunch, but we got to ride on the Indy Sppedway 2x without getting off (yes, there were 20 minute lines) just because she was "the prettiest princess" the CM "had seen all day!" She got to be the line-pass holder 3x in a row at Buzz's. The princesses fawned all over her, and all day CM's and guests alike were calling her Cinderella, and your highness, and asking for HER autograph.

Two years before, she wore Snow White to Norway's breakfast(the only princess ressie we could get), and she got a certificate which made her an honorary princess, a pin, and plenty of attention from CM's and guests alike.

In both cases, we couldn't get the dress off her if we wanted to. But in both cases, she wore a shirt and shorts under, in case she got hot or wanted to take it off. :goodvibes

We just had breakfast there a couple of weeks age and my little girl could not WAIT to wear her Cinderella dress!! We did put a shirt on under it and brought some pants, but she loved staying in her dress all day at the park. Everyone called her a princess all day and she thought that was soo neat, made her feel very special.
The day we went about 80% of the girls were wearing their favorite princess dress.
Makes the pictures nice also!
