Cinderella breakfast-Dress?

I am taking my DD's for their first princess breakfast in August. Actually none of us have eaten with the characters before. I was wondering how do most of the kids dress? Are the girls all dressed up like princesses? I don't really feel like dressing them up since we will be heading into the park afterwards but I don't want them to be the only little princesses in shorts.

Thanks for your help. I have been reading a lot of great information on the boards.

I hear of kids dressing up alot but honestly when we went my DD was one of the few that was in a costume. If they really would like to I would take a change of clothes in a backpack or something..

I don't think all kids are dressed up, but certainly some are. I don't think your girls would be out of place if they weren't dressed up.

hehe im 19 and struggling with the same thing, shall i dress up in one of my many princess outfits when i have my breakfast with cindy! heh only joking well not about the part about having breakfast with cindy coz i am and not about the fact of having lots of princess and fairy dress up outfits but about the fact of wearing them!

We went last November and my granddaughter wore shorts and a princess Tshirt. She was not alone - about 50% not dressed up. I thought she would be mad she was not dressed up but did not even seem to notice those that were dressed up. She was just interested in the Princesses not the other children.

I agree it probably is about half. My DD does dress up but we bring a change of clothes in a ziploc bag in the backpack and when she is ready to change, fold up the dress into the ziploc and squeeze all of the air out. She loves to dress up and it makes for cute pictures. She also loves the attention that she gets as she walks through the park dressed up.

So does mine! In fact, one trip my DD and DNiece went to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and had their hair, makeup, etc. done. After doing so, we headed over to the MK to have lunch at CRT. People loved to make comments, check them out, etc. We went over to EPCOT later that day and got even MORE attention - they felt like rock stars! Guess dressing up as a princess is a little more commonplace at MK so they didn't turn as many heads.

In any case, Love2BinDisney is right. It probably is about half - or even less. Either way, they will love it!

This is what we used to do. DD wanted to dress up a couple of times, but by the time breakfast was over, she was over it too--ready for usual park wear. Either way, your girls won't be out of place. Lots of girls do dress up, but many don't.

Our girls dressed up for both princess meals this time and it did seem like about half were completely dressed up and then some just had crowns. We also just put the dress in a ziploc bag and stowed it in our backpack. It was definitely worth it for the great pictures and the fun they had being dressed like their favorite princess.

We were at CRT on Halloween one year and there were very few girls in costume which suprised me. The kids in our party were wearing Halloween shirts and fit right in.

My DD dressed up but my son wouldnt. We expected to change her from her dress and she refused I was so glad her shoes for her costume were comfortable cute shoes rather than costume shoes. Then last year I assumed she wouldnt want to change back after the Princess Tea so I when she wanted to all I had was the long sleeve shirt (did have shorts) she had worn when it was cool that morning but it was now 88 degrees. So my advice let bring costumes and give them the option the morning of, and if they choose to wear costumes then bring a change of clothes along. But have comfortable shoes they can walk the rest of the day in if they need to. We also didnt buy the costume dresses. I bought a pretty (very nice from consignment) blue dress with lace and perls on it but no crinolin or lace at the edges or anything that was scratchy or uncomfortable for cinderella and a clearanced pink velour/satin dress again nothing scratchy/uncomfy for Sleeping Beauty. Then added some lacy mary jane style shoes with a comfortable sole that she wears all the time to school (cheap at walmart). The outfit wasnt much different than a sundress and tennis shoes until i added the specific tiaras and jewlery. She so loved it and was in heaven. And loved the extra attention she got in the park afterwards.

Anything really. If you want to dress really nice (dresses and Polo shirts) then you can. But ig you want shir and shorts, you can. I did the shirt and shorts (not dresses and Polo shirts).
