Seeing as how I'm gonna be living near WDW for a few months, I'd just like to know what churches are relatively near there. I myself am LDS, and I'd like to know where the closest one is. Maybe participants of other faiths would like to know where their religion meets as well...

I also hear that there's a church called Mary, Queen of the Univere Shrine that's really near the apartments!

Mary Queen of the Universe is literally right across the street from the Commons (International Housing). It's walking distance from Chatham, and I guess you could walk there from Vista as well...

While in Orlando, we always attend St.Lukes United Methodist Church. It's near Universal. It's a good church if that is your denomination. They have a big young adult program.

Another church that everyone on Facebook is talking about that I plan to check out is a church called Discovery. I guess they also have a big young adult program.

A few churches right next door in Celebration:

I can't say much about this church, other than that I know they have a developed young-adults program: http://www.celebratechurch.org/axis

I am Catholic, and I will say that "The National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe" is a beautiful church, but it is mostly a tourist church and not a community church, so if you like to get involved with church things it might not be the place... but it is nice that it is so close.

Great! Thanks for the church info!!! I'm Baptist and was hoping to find a church while there.

Sorin08 - my sister's also a Baptist looking for a church and going to the college program next month.

I say ditto on St. Luke's, I used to go there when I lived in Orlando.....(btw its right down the street from the LDS temple)

Also, if anyone is going to be down there for a Spring CP - some of the beach communities hold sunrise mass on the beach for Easter! I went to an Easter mass on the beach in Cocoa Beach the day I was leaving on the Disney Cruise a few years ago - it was truely amazing. :)
