Church fall festival ideas needed...

We use several of the ideas listed so far, and one we also use is to take an old blackboard, set individual candles on it a few inches apart on the ledge, then let kids use water pistols to put out the flames. :)

Also, try a local fire fighting department and see if they have one of the portable smoke units kids crawl through. My BIL is part of the local one in their town, and they bring it almost every year.

Good luck and have fun!

Our church did a Harvest Fair for 2 years. We had a bouncer, pumpkin decorating, games and vendors (don't know if you want to go that far with having vendors or not) as well as food. We got some of the games and most of the prizes from Oriental Trading.

If you don't want to do carnival games, how about the ole standby, three-legged races, pie eating contests and sack races. You could do the races in heats, and then the winners could compete against each other in the end. Apple pie and pumpkin pie would be good for a fall fest, just make the minis. Use pumpkins to mark the starting and finishing lines.

You could also put together some funny relay races for families.

might not be in the budget but.... a maze, can me made out of corn stalks or hay bales.

So far we have a bounce house/slide combo coming, guessing jars, guess the weight of the pumpkin game & Bingo planned. I think it will work out perfect. Thanks again for all of the ideas.
